Gamers keeping Shabbat

Okay, Okay...Calm down! You can get any two patterns you want off my site and of course, request for a search of something specific if you don't see it there. :D They are $14.95 for the one sided, lined version and $21.95 for the reversible version. And, in case you are wondering, can be size adjusted if necessary, just give me inches across. They are not up on the site yet, so to order you'll have to just e-mail me the patterns and size and quantity. Monogramming can be done as on the bags, but we have yet to hear from Valtera on the licensing for d20 and it's character images.:( Hope he'll hear about the thread and let us know what to do. Paladinwife

Awesome! As soon as I figure out which patterns I want :), I'll e-mail you my order - an order which will include a dice bag as well, you sly dogs! ;)

temporary hijacking

Thanks for responding - I am actually looking for the second type, so if you know of any.....

Sorry it took me so long to respond, connection issues...

...I am actually less familiar with the best intellectual histories of Catholic theology than I am with the best accounts of councils and such.

Shouldn't take me to long to find something, however, so if you can give me someplace to leave the information I'll be happy to do so, otherwise I'll hijack the thread again, and briefly, in a day or two.

A good catechism can be helpful if you have discrete questions about points of theology though I find them less useful for any sort of historical perspective or advanced thought.

I don't have a pic of myself, but if you imagine a vaguely humanoid figure made of variously sized bagels, you'll get a pretty good idea.

By the way, I would like to stake my claim as EN World's Iconic Bagel Golem. :D

An edible michellin man!

Anything that you dig up would be great - this is strickly for intellectual curiousity anyway. Send the info to liquide_utrecht@yahoo.com

Thanks in Advance

Hey! Looks like thanks to Green Ronin I may be able to game a little on Shabbat!

GREEN RONIN TO PUBLISH TESTAMENT CAMPAIGN SETTING
Biblical Era to Come to Life for d20 Fans
See this thread.

I guess now we WILL be able to see just how much those walls at Jericho can take!

Interesting...I wonder how they'll work the theologies of the time. Will they hold that the Egyptian gods are real and have clerics and such just like the God is Israel (was Israel even a state back then? I don't recall), or will the game hold that the Israel God is the only God, and all other religions just have sorcerers and mages and such?

I'm really curious as to how they'll deal with those issues as well.

In the end everyone has to remember that it is a game setting--one based on history and on a set of stories some hold to be as true as what happened an hour ago--but still a game setting, and liberties are sure to be taken in the name of entertainment value. I have no problem with that; what a book says or what a person says has no effect on my convictions unless I let it have it. Besides, I can separate my gaming from my religion, just like I can separate my gaming from my real life.

I cannot wait for the book. :D

On a side note: Paladin, any news from Anthony Valterra on the d20 logo use on the kippahs? How are the kippahs coming along?

Unfortunately, I haven't heard a word from him. I figured that by now he'd have at least told me no, but I haven't even gotten a response. :( Anyone know him personally and could maybe bring this to his attention?

Other than that issue, the kippahs are ready to be ordered. If anyone wants one (without the d20 logo), just e-mail me directly or go to our Feedback form on our site and fill out the comments section with what you want. We're working on modifying our order page so that they can be ordered normally, but until then - use the Feedback page.

For reference:

One pattern (lined) kippahs: $14.95
Two-sided kippahs: $21.95

Your choices of any of over 100 Gamer's Bag fabric patterns. Monogramming is, of course, extra. :)

Just got this back from Rabbi Moshe Krasnanski, via Chabad's ask-a-rabbi service:

The accepted rule is that graven images (3 dimensional) of animals are
permitted. Images of the heaven, earth or angels are prohibited. Images of
humans if fully 3 dimensional are prohibited, but if not complete (head
only) or 2 dimensional are fine.

All of the above refers to clearly artistic and non idol related images,
but if the image has any connection to idols then they are all forbidden.

There are lots of opinions in this but this is accepted rules.

So there is good rabbinical support for using miniatures! Just cut off the heads. :)

Just imagine the following conversation :D :

-----------------
Gentile DM: What race would you like for your new PC?

Jewish gamer: Well, it's got to be an elf, dwarf, halfling, gnome, half-elf or half-orc. Right?

Gentile DM: Or human.

Jewish gamer: No, not human. I'd have to break the head off my miniature if it was human, but not if it's demi-human.

Gentile DM: Huh? Why?

Jewish gamer: Dude, don't you know? I'm Jewish.

Gentile DM: - And nuts!
