Gaming Journalist Rob Wieland Passes At Age 48

It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Rob Wieland.
It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Rob Wieland. As well as his weekly reviews column here at EN World, Rob's work could be found on Forbes, Geek & Sundry, and other outlets, as well as in tabletop RPG games such as Star Wars Saga Edition, World of Darkness supplements, Shadowrun, and Savage Worlds.

Rob passed away this weekend at the too-young age of 48, leaving behind a wife and a young daughter.

Rob was always a real pleasure to work with--he was professional, funny, and kind. He will be missed, and our thoughts are with his family and friends.

I found out last evening that Rob had passed, and had a good cry about it.

He was a family man, a good person, and friend.

Rob was one of the biggest advocates for the TTRPG industry.

He was a gifted creator. Games journalist. Writer. Role-player.

Most know him from his work at Forbes, but Rob has a long list of credits across ttrpgs small and large.

Wishing his wife, young daughter, family, and friends peace in this time of difficulty.

Rob's work promoted roleplaying in the best possible way. His words shown a spotlight upon many great games that would not have the audience they've enjoyed; many creators would not have found their place at the gaming table if Rob had not seen their brilliance and shared it with the wider world.
Without Rob, TTRPG journalism feels smaller. In a tight circle, he was a titan, the type of author I love to read, and aspire to be. His affection for RPGs will be missed. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
