Gaming over the Holidays?

I got to look at Age of Mythology today. That's about the closest I'm getting to gaming for the moment. Sigh.

I need to get back into it when my contract expires.

Good Lord yes - we game with abandon over the Holidays. Friends from around the area and country even come out to celebrate HaggettCon - starts shortly after XMAS and runs right through New Year's Day. Gaming every day!

Naturally, tomorrow I will be behind the camera as my kids unwrap their loot, but after that watch out!

I'm running a mini-campaign in the world of GURPS Cabal.

Basically, the PCs are extremely low-ranking members of a worldwide conspiracy of wizards and monsters that wants to keep all things supernatural to itself (think the world of Harry Potter, when you consider what it actually means when the wizards casually mind-wipe the muggles...).

The campaign will take place over the holiday season of 1999, and the PCs will have to (among other things) search for the inheritance of Dietrich Eckhart (Thule Society member and personal mentor of Hitler) and try to banish an out-of-control Santa Claus (hard to keep magic a secret when there's Santa Claus flying over Frankfurt and deciding who is Naughty and who is Nice...)

I just got an email from one of my players asking if I want to run my game tomorrow... I said yeah, if they can make it here instead of me having to lug 50 lbs. of books to the bus stop 9 blocks away to go to their pad.

Half my game group isn't even answering their e-mail this week, so probably not. We're trying to organise a session while everyone's got the time off, but it ain't working at present.

Still, the next games on the 4th of january, and it's the first session where I don't have to Dm for a long, long time. the wait won't kill me

Our group takes the two weeks around Christmas and New Years off from gaming. Most of us are married, with multiple children and have relatives that do not live in town, so we pretty much can't work any schedule out that includes getting the 6 of us together. Plus the fact that we game on wednesdays really messed us up this year.

Hm, how did everyone's Christmas games go?

Mine went quite well- I think most of the lower level pcs leveled (the 11th level guys got a whopping 8k xp).

They fought Yungo the otyugh barbarian, among other things...
