Gaming W/Jemal: Legends (3.5e d&D) *Recruitment Closed*

Jemal.... question... How do you as a DM handle crits?... just weapon damage is doubled?.... weapon damage + mods are double.... roll twice for damage if crit is confirmed?... just wondering so I know how to roll accordingly in the future...

Question for the Factotum's dropping of SR... does that apply to everyone or only to the Factotum character when he uses that ability? I thought it was only to that character.

Myth - if you want to hit someone with a meteor swarm, then make sure you target 1 creature with all of them, that way they get no saving throws (SR still applies). But remember that there is a burst effect on the fire damage...

Any damage other than 'precision' damage (Sneak Attack, Skirmish, etc) Or special enhancements (Vicious, Merciful, Flaming, etc).

For the most complicated example, lets use this:
say you have a +1 Flaming Longsword, Weapon Specialization, 1d6 sneak attack, and a strength of 18.
Your normal longsword damage is 1d8+1d6+7, with an additional 1d6 when you sneak attack. If you roll a crit, the 1d8 is doubled, as is the +7. the 1d6 fire and the 1d6 sneak attack are not.
Make sense?

ALSO, a note to everybody: please do NOT edit your rogue's gallery character sheets unless you are making a permanent change that has been approved by me. I don't like seeing character sheets getting edited on a daily basis.

Once your character is 'done', I don't want to see anymore edits
For this reason, if you need to denote used spell/day, damage, etc, keep them in the combat textblock at the end of your posts.

woah wait.... another question... I realize that Arineil would not know spells not being a caster and all but how the HECK did the bear move to Sebastian and mr. feral looking take his place without moving???... did the bear thing just wink out and appear next to Seb?... or did it move?....

Without looking at the Spellcraft sblocks my guess would've been one of the two Transposition spells from Spell Compendium. Most likely culprit being Benign Transposition.

My first Epic encounter I roll a 1 on initiative and spend my first action escaping a grapple. Welcome to the big leagues.

even to a non spellcaster the instantaneous movement is obviousy either a teleportation effect of some kind, or an illusion.

ALSO, to those who are grappled: Don't forget that attempting to break free from a grapple is an attack action. If you have multiple attacks per round due to BAB, you can make multiple attempts to get out as a full-attack action. (Haste grants you an additional attempt just like it does for an additional attack, but things like dual-wielding wouldn't). You would take the appropriate penalties for sucessive attacks (-5 for the second grapple attempt, -10 for the third, a haste attack would be at your 'normal' grapple bonus).

My first jaunt into PbP Epic playing Grapples were the BANE of my half water elemental cleric.... I got grappled in the first round of the first encounter and nearly died.. I learned my lesson and bought a ring of freedom of movement hehehe.... I don't know that spell at all.... but then again Arineil wouldn't either... I was just wondering if it moved physically in lew of an AoO.. bit if it didn't then play on as Arineil wouldn't know crap about crap about it heh

Two questions: If Sila takes a 5 foot step westward, will she be able to avoid triggering an AOO from the feral?

Dragon Magic: i didn't know it had EVEN MORE spells to wade trough.. Will i be able to purchase some scrolls at some point during the adventure, if i find a spell i really like?

On shapechange: My caster level is 22 right now, so i can shapechange in any and all 22HD creature i chose (if i decide to go melee instead of caster at some point). When i shapechange i keep the damage that has been dealt to me right? Can i shapechange in things like Dragons (an Adlult is 21 HD i think), Illithid, oozes, plants etc? If i shapechange in to a Mind Flayer will i get it's psionic special attacs etc? If i do that will i still be able to cast my Wizard spells?

DnD 201 - advanced class for freshmen :D

And sorry for the bad luck, Ethandrew - I'm not TRYING to pick on you, It just kinda happened.

For anyone who might be discouraged by what's happened so far, don't be. Each of these characters has been designed using the same rule system as you, with a few add-ons, so they're a group of slightly OP level 20 characters designed by me to challenge a group of PCs that outnumbers them 3 to 1. Don't expect a short or easy fight. (In fact, that last sentence applies to most combats I DM.)
