Gaming W/Jemal: Planar Quest IC (Prologue)

"I expected something of the sort" Braham admits. "Though I don't like it. Even if magical healing can fix whatever injuries we may sustain, it's a drain on our resources.

And what is there to prove, anyway? If we refuse, or fail, will you find another group to do this quest, Wade? I think not.

But if we must, you should know that I've found my acid attack to work best against constructs. That would not do any permanent damage to you, I trust?"

As Ur thinks this, his gaze meets Wade's. The Titanforged eyes seem to sparkle with amusement and he holds a finger up to his 'nose' as though he knows what the dwarf is thinking.
Ur blinks, hard. Then his eyes widden slightly.

He tilts his head at the drink offer "No thanks, I don't consume as you do."
But as he doesn't add the usual 'you go ahead though', the dwarf simply settles back in his place: "I will join you then," he states with a touch of quiet stubbornness.

(It usually doesn't pay to be impolite to giant stone statues, as shown by their experiences with Shi, the gargantuan Galeb Dhur that is now a living part of the once province-spanning Sounding Wall, now crumbling and ivy-grown -- a great observer of all things motion for all his stillness, Ur's greatest teacher in the tectonic arts of bare-handed combat!)

Mei Ying, silent all this time, said, "We'll face challenges greater than this on this path. I think Wade wishes to see if we have what it takes. I accept the challenge."

She looks at the others. "I'll need at least one other person to assist me though."
Ur, who'se been observing the golem, quietly speaks up: "He means that we should all fight him together," he explains, directing the remark mostly towards Gerard. "As a group, like we will face the quest ahead."

<Assuming Wade confirms this:
"What about him?" A gesture towards Darrian, still drinking behind the bar (those who know him well can actually spot a flint of incipient revenge in the dwarf's seemingly neutral eyes). "*He* will be with us during our quest."

<Response Wade?>

OOC: Since *we* can decide when battle commences, I suggest we huddle up and discuss strategies a bit IC beforehand?

Edit: Good to be running again. Thanks Jemal. :)

Wade holds his hand out, low enough for anybody to grab the egg. "We will begin whenever you are ready to take the egg. Do not worry about destroying me - You cannot. And I will not kill you during this test."

"I would not be able to defeat you in combat and nor do I wish you harmed in any way Master Wade, so I will not participate in this exorcise."

Mei Ying, silent all this time, said, "We'll face challenges greater than this on this path. I think Wade wishes to see if we have what it takes. I accept the challenge."

She looks at the others. "I'll need at least one other person to assist me though."

Gerard grunts irratably and begrudgingly says, "Just a test, huh? for that context, then I will join."

(OOC - My plan was to have everyone gather in close to Mei, take the egg, and put up her force dome. Then we can pass the egg around while we're sealed in, charging it up...then drop the dome and drop the egg and BigBaddaBoom.)

Tutek had rolled eyes at Gerard's lack of violent impulses, to which the sorceror-in-a-chain cackled. The ogre brandishes the chain "Very well, I've been longing for some REAL exercise. I enjoy a good talk as any rational being, but there is always that "Ogre smash" tendency my race have. I'll take that egg, excuse me." Tutek reaches out with his long arm, doing well in keeping a line of allies between him and the golem. He feels the sting of the artefact, draining him, but pays no heed to it. Instead, and without ceremonies, he lashes with Sendesemcal at Wade:

Sendesemcal full attack: +37/32/27/22 2d6+29 19-20x2:
[1,37] = (38) Miss dmg: [1,2,29] = (32)
[13,32] = (45) dmg: [5,1,29] = (35)
[5,27] = (32) dmg: [5,5,29] = (39)
[9,22] = (31) dmg: [4,1,29] = (34)

"Tutek, wait!" Mei blurted, taken off guard by the ogre's impulsiveness. "I have a pla..."

Too late!

(OOC - Taking the egg is a move action, so you can't do a full attack, sadly. :) And Wade gets to go before I can forcewall us now.)

"And there goes my absolute earthquake strike," grunts the dwarf who is *also* one of the ones that happen to be standing between the remarkably cowardly ogre and the golem. "Thanks big guy." And no time for buffing either. A look up into Wade's impassive porcelain-white face as Ur tries to at least fall into a proper defensive stance... This - is - going - to - *hurt*!

OOC: Well, we should at least get points for "added challenge", right? ;)
