Ur, on the other hand, is visibly torn: on one side a fascinating storyteller (with an upcoming contest too!), on the other a tall mug of dark, frothy beer... He looks up (and I do mean up), "Will you be having anything?"

<Response Wade?>

<You may have missed this bit, D'Raven:

"So where are we?" A small, controlled gesture to encompass the busy streets, and all things that (probably) lie beyond -- he seems most interested in the strangeness of the sky...

<Response Darrian?>

To Gerard Darrian blindly reaches behind him muttering, "...scotch, scotch..." He grabs a bottle at random and pours a drink. "How's this." To Braham it's a understanding nod then he turns around and a frenzy of activity and random motions happen before he turns back with a bright red drink. "It's red and there's wine in it... I think... I'm either a great bar tender or an average one."
At some ones inquiring look he replies, "I'm not charging. What this stuff is I'm not certain really. I know it's alcohol and I know it's drinkable. The staff keeps it stocked, they're always trying out new liquor. You'd be amazed what keeps coming throu here. Well it is the Bazzar after all, a whole plane that's nothing but a single market has a lot to offer. I just own the surrounding streets and if we don't have it we can get it or at least point you to some one that can... For the right price of course."

"Hmmm, tastes more like vodka, actually. **shrug** its wet and alcohol for now. We'll try again with the next drink."

He walks away mumbling a repeat of the facts Wade has said, " ' The gods had their divine spark; Titans had their creativity, ingenuity; And the eldest of the three, the Stars, they held another Power, the will of the Universe. The three spread about the planets..we call them Planes these days.. and 'sowed' life. They each created a few races, but those of the Stars outshone those of the Titans and Gods. Eventually, the Titans rebelled against the Stars, assaulting them with their technology. The Gods watched the fight, and chose their side - they sided with the Stars, combining their Divine Spark with the Universal Power. It ended badly. The Titans were able to finish off the Stars, as well as most of their creations while the Gods wrestled with the magics that were unleashed. By the time the Gods had stopped their magics from destroying them, the Titans had consolidated their power. But the Gods were clever, they continued to sow life, and grow in power, until they could challenge and defeat the Titans, and proclaim themselves the rulers of the Universe. Admittedly, this is second hand, I was only present for the finale. My kind were created during the end days of the war, long after the Stars had died.' .. .. .. .. .."

after a minute he stops in his paceing and faces Wade. "Sorry sir, but another question for you. Just a clarification actually. You mentioned they 'sowed life'; could you better describe this action?"

[sblock=personal:train of thought] what races were created by the stars?"[/sblock]

The dwarf ponders (after this morning's incident, there *are* a few purchases he would like to make... Eventually). Unlike the Chariot of the Clouds, his thoughts are usually fairly grounded in their tracks once put in motion though: "And where is Kaainsbridge from here?"

<Response Darrian?>

OOC: If anybody checks, the question is entirely and naively honest: he really wants to know.

By the by, don't think I mentionned it for this group yet but the <response> tags are meant to signal from whom my character is expecting a response (representing non-verbal cues (gaze direction, attention, pauses, small gestures/grunts, etc)). As in a real conversation, feel free/encouraged to answer/comment/speak up even and especially if your character's name is not mentionned or there is no <response> tag. ;)

OOC: after today I've got some time off so update coming soon, and then we'll be back on track now that the holidays are done

How did the Titans fight such foes? Especially outnumbered as they were, judging by the number of 'corpses' shining in Rauland's night sky... Or were they dismembered and tossed out into the heavens? Each a sparkling constellation...?
As Ur thinks this, his gaze meets Wade's. The Titanforged eyes seem to sparkle with amusement and he holds a finger up to his 'nose' as though he knows what the dwarf is thinking.

He tilts his head at the drink offer "No thanks, I don't consume as you do." Wade turns to face the others as the questions continue. "Each of the three races used their own powers to create life. The Gods created sentients because they needed to be worshiped. The titans saw this and became jealous, so used their advanced knowledge to engineer their own forms of life. But before either of them, the Stars had unleashed life's very essence. They let loose life and it took it's own path. The gods like to claim everything as theirs, but most of it isn't."
Wade claps his hands together with an intense BANG!
"But enough of that! It's time for the test."

The titanforged motions everybody to move in.
"Alrighty! Fun time. This test comes in two integrated parts. The physical part is simple: Beat me in combat. The mental part involves THIS" his hand opens and a small black egg comes out. "This is a Titan Artifact. Once activated, this device drains energy from whomever holds it, increasing its drain the longer it is in contact with life. If it is NOT in contact with someone living for more than a few seconds, it will expel all the energy it has absorbed. The energy drain will only affect the living, but Expulsion will harm any being that is NOT living twice as much as it drained. SO, the question is how long do you wish to allow it to drain you before using it on me?"
Wade holds his hand out, low enough for anybody to grab the egg. "We will begin whenever you are ready to take the egg. Do not worry about destroying me - You cannot. And I will not kill you during this test."

OOC: OK, so to explain the mechanics a bit more in depth: The egg deals damage to whichever living player is holding it at the end of each round, increasing the damage each consecutive round it's held by the same person. 'Holding' it does not have to take up your hands, it can easily be stored in a pocket (Swift action to retrieve).
Passing the egg to another character is a move action which requires one free hand, and it can be tossed across the room with ease and accuracy. A character may also TAKE it from another player as a standard action disarm check (If both are willing, no check required).
If the Egg is outside of a players grasp at end of round, the egg will 'go off', dealing twice the damage it absorbed to wade.
Initiative will begin as soon as somebody takes the egg. Whoever grabs it spends a move action to do so, and then may act, followed by Wade, and then everybody else.

wade said:
the Stars had unleashed life's very essence. They let loose life and it took it's own path.

Would this be nature, Or the force opposing the undead?

"I would not be able to defeat you in combat and nor do I do not wish you harmed in any way Master Wade, so I will not participate in this exorcise."

Mei Ying, silent all this time, said, "We'll face challenges greater than this on this path. I think Wade wishes to see if we have what it takes. I accept the challenge."

She looks at the others. "I'll need at least one other person to assist me though."
