REALLY, Bill?

Never would have guessed.

Heck, there are a bunch of users here who used your GW website as an essential supplement to prior editions of the game too.

Having not read your website recently, what do you think was the best edition of GW to date?

While I see 4th as an obvious pre-cursor to the 3e D&D system in many respects, I was most enthralled by the third edition of the game.

Thanks for the kind words Mr. Hellhound. : )
Believe it or not I played/GMed GW before I ever played D&D, way back in '79, guess I'm showing my age.
As for my favorite version I'd probably have to say 4th ed. I was disappointed in the Alternity version, it just changed too much of what I considered to be Core Gamma, that's why alot of the stuff on my site tried to
"fix" the Alternity version, then d20 came out and I haven't looked back at Alternity since then.
You really liked 3rd. ed GW? That's the one with the color charts right? I never could get into that one. To each his own I suppose. : )
Warm Regards,
Brutorz Bill

Gamma World Release Date

As one of the GW PHB authors, I am NDA'd up the ying-yang (so don't ask), but I can tell you that the PHB is to be released in October, not August. Yeah, delays suck, but developer Bruce Baugh is dedicated to putting out the best version of Gamma World ever. (I have the lashes on my back to prove it! :D )

Well then. Get back to work! I'm hoping that this is the best GW version. I loved the original and i hope this one stays true to that GW feel.

Pitzburk, baby..... Pitzburk. :)

I'm just hoping to be able to recreate the mutated plant w/ the military genius mutation that I played in junior high :)

There are to be no mutated plant PCs in GW6. It was even not covered in the licence bought by WW so the current GW developers hands are tied on this issue. Don't hassle him about it. If it helps mutated plant PCs have only been in 2 of the 5? versions of GW so its not like they were a sacred cow (or carrot :D).

Nitpick: AFAIK S&S has the entire GW liscense - including mutated plants. Bruce Baugh (the line developer) said they're not putting them in because they think they're rather silly.

Plants

Actually who cares what Bruce thinks is silly. I can easily grandfather in Plant characters into a GW game I run. If its like anyother S&S sourcebook I've seen I will probably buy one from the line and never buy another one (and this comes from an inveterate game collector). I'll probably buy the book and use what I want to use. I don't think its going to be like D&D 3e where I made that my base game, its Gamma World and I will plug and play any thing from former editions that I want to use (since I have almost every former edition except 2nd edition).
