Yes, over at Slipstream, Robert Wolfe, Zack Stentz, and Ashley Miller have all admitted that they are long-time gamers. Still play actually.

As if it wasn't obvious. Now I know that Traveller draws a lot of inspiration from other sources, but when I first watched it, I couldn't help but see dozens of parallels in each show.

I'd sorta had the feeling that there were gamers at Andromeda (besides Lexa Doig - fish around the site linked to above and you'll see someone actually asked her what kind of character she liked to play in D&D), but this episode cemented it for me.

They also provided what seems like starship game stats for the various ships on the allsystems.org website right from the beginning. The stats don't seem to be associated with a game, but they seem like they could be.

What was with the messiah BS? Is this a running thread or something they just threw in?

Interesting to note the knights' symbol was similar to neo nazi rendiitons of the swastika.

Yes, the messiah thing is something that's been mentioned before. It's been something that occasionally comes up because Tyr had the bones of the guy who was...umm...the previous messiah (I can't exactly explain it myself). The Nietzcheans expect a genetically identical Nietzchean to be born, who would be the new messiah. Looks like Tyr is the daddy.

By the way, Dylan now has the bones locked up where Tyr can't get to them. They're relics, and I guess whichever Nietzchean pride has them is seen as the most prestigious pride.
