Gem Bag of Holding?

Anybody remember this from 2nd edition? Basically, it was just a small bag of holding meant only for gems, or something like that. I can't find it in my books and I'm wondering what the limits of it were.

Well, it doesn't ring a bell and I went looking through the Enceclipidia of Magical Items or what ever that is called (the 4 books that has pretty much every magical item created up till 99 or so), and I didn't find anything like that in there either.

Yeah, those are the books that I have as well. I don't have them with me, but I looked through them this morning. Maybe it was the "bag of gems" or something? Kinda like the "bag of coins"? Crap. I can't remember. Bah!

I remember a bag like that but it wasn't called a gembag of holding. Forget the name of it but I remember there was an item like that.

Any idea what product it was orginally in? a module, a sourcebook, a setting specific book....

I scanned the pages of tables in the back to try to see if a name jumped out and nothing there either.

I remember there being an item like that in one of the CRPGs-- Baldur's Gate 2, IIRC. It wouldn't have been much use, except that it worked around some limitation of the inventory system.

If you want to store gems in 3e, just pour them into a HHH. Even if you don't sort them first, you can still pick out any one you like as a free action.

I don't suppose you mean a Bucknard's everfull purse? It mostly allowed you to grab a certain number of coins each day and never run out... but the top category also had gems. (AD&D 1st Ed. here, might've changed name in 2nd Ed.)
