Well, the number of DMs necessary would depend on the number of players. I would say optimally you wouldn't want more than 8 players per DM, and one person overseeing the rounds. So, once a round was completed, the "head DM" (as it were) could regulate the passing of rounds. If everyone at a specific table died, that DM could then bow out, and those that remained could reform into groups of 8 as people died.
Maybe each DM could record kills, damage dealt, and deaths.
We could give out awards for:
most kills
most damage dealt
first death (the booby prize)
role-playing awards
and maybe an award to those that survive.
