[Gen Con 04] The Insane Game - Updated 8/15/03!

Well, the number of DMs necessary would depend on the number of players. I would say optimally you wouldn't want more than 8 players per DM, and one person overseeing the rounds. So, once a round was completed, the "head DM" (as it were) could regulate the passing of rounds. If everyone at a specific table died, that DM could then bow out, and those that remained could reform into groups of 8 as people died.

Maybe each DM could record kills, damage dealt, and deaths.

We could give out awards for:
most kills
most damage dealt
first death (the booby prize)
role-playing awards
and maybe an award to those that survive.

Any thread starting with "...A crazy idea..." must be read by all. Count me in. Both Teneb, (most likely) his wife, my wife and I will all be there. Teneb's wife don't game, but the three of us would probably be a go. Count me for sure...

Good ideas - here are some comments:

most kills & most damage: as long as you're disallowing smackdowns, then sure! Otherwise someone will put together a smack that takes out the entire world in the first round

first death: disallow suicides and team-kills to avoid collusion, and then woohoo

role-playing awards: umm - can't see there being much time for this, unless it's just for cool flourishes during the big war scenario, or cool in-character actions that do fit the game

survival: heck, survivors should get the right to put an "I survived the ENWorld MegaSession!" in their sigs. Beyond that the experience itself would be its own reward.

:)

I think that would be cool but I wouldnt want it to start any earlier than Thursday noonish just so people would have a chance to get there.

I didnt arrive until Friday this year but my wife loved it so much she already stated we were going Thursday next year :D

Yea, I am thinking Thursday evening, after everyone has had a chance to grab a bite and head back to the Con Center. Oh, and there had better be role-playing involved, if I am going to be... Stormy can tell ya, I am ALL about the RPing! ;)

I am thinking an initial bout of roleplaying followed by a hellacious bit of combat should fill four hours nicely! :D

Whatcha think?

Again, suggestions for DMs? We need to start pinning folks down now.... :D
