I was sweating a little bit when I wrote that since I knew someone would call me on it if I said Morrus when I meant Morris or vice-versa.

Thank Buttercup et al for ENWorld name badges!

Just making sure that you knew who it was that you were talking to, since MM doesn't usually go by Morrus due to the confusion it causes.

And you are welcome for the badges. That's my contribution to the cause every year!

Picnic-N-Gaming at the Park, GenCon '06 sounds like a great idea. We need to have the park reserved, of course (crosses fingers that this is something doable - and that next summer is cooler than this summer).

We could ask that everyone bring a dish to pass (now that we know where the grocery store is) or chip in to cover the cost of the reservation. We could eat and have some gaming fun. I would even be willing to make my GenCon DMing premier at this event.

ENWorld picnic is a great idea! Then it will REALLY feel like we are attending a reunion! :D I'll do whatever I can to help with costs, food, organization, whatever. Keep me informed.

It'll be hard to top this year in terms of fun, but I believe that with enough effort and good people, we can!

Good
RPGA events (overall) especially getting into the Living Greyhawk Special with a generic ticket(I was lucky)
True Dungeon - It was very fun, and we survived (all 14 of us) AND completed the mission with 20 seconds to spare.
Making of the Gamers 2 - This will be one great movie
Buying a bag with "Bag of Holding" written on it - I don't know why, it cracks me up
Meeting some people from ENWorld
Dinner with RangerWickett and JohnCrichton at the RAM
The RAM in general, food was great, atmosphere was great, even if it took a little while to get in
Meeting some people I haven't seen in a while from Australia and the US

Bad
Missing the D&D Movie 2 panel due to being unable to find the room
Being unable to find the Canadiana Suite (to be honest, I didn't try that hard)
Missing the ennies due to getting into the Living Greyhawk Special and not wanting to pass it up
Not being able to meet more people
Not meeting any women (not that it was likely, but it was a secondary goal of the weekend)
Not being able to get up and be at the con for 8 am, I could have gotten a lot more done (still, sleep is good)
Nasty blisters and pain in my feet after walking around all day

Ugly
Nothing much

Eating lunch with Buttercup on Sunday at the Ram. Having dinner with Suzi and Joe, Rich, Tim, and Steve at Bucco Di Beppo even though I still think the food is awful there. (sorry!)

Apparently, I'm not worthy of mention. :( ;)

Good
Running RPGA events, over and over, and meeting table after table of great players.
Meeting Dextra, Hellhound, and Buttercup on Wednesday as the booth got set up.
My young-ish (19-22) roomates, who prove that the future of gaming is in great hands.
Getting the opportunity to sit at a publisher table for the Ennies (but see below).

Bad
Arriving at the Canadiana Suite Wednesday, only to get hit with a killer migraine two minutes later and leaving in a blind stumble.
Missing the Ennies due to being scheduled to run a game and not getting released (the only time all weekend that all the tables were full!)
Not being able to meet more people

Ugly
Gamer funk

One of the greatest 'pros' you can put on the list is this: bring lots of food and drinks. Invest in a cooler. Put ice in the cooler. You will leave the con having felt so proud of yourself for being able to get a cheap drink at midnight if you so chose.

That's the best thing to do if you're on a tight con budget. And get drinks from the store while they're on sale! Our local grocery store had 12 pack Pepsi one time for $1.99 each. And I stocked up for me and a friend of mine who's on a tighter budget than I am (I go to Dragoncon, courtesy of Uncle Sam-refund check, baby! :) ) Getting ANYTHING when it's on sale is best. And for sandwiches, check out your local bread store. They sell bread about half what you get in the grocery store.

If you can get ice from a fast food joint, then usually they don't charge for it. That's what I'm gonna do- swing by work and fill the cooler before leaving! :)

Ugh. Although I passed a few people with gamer-stereotype-validating B.O. during the course of the weekend, my worst encounter had to be at the Chessex booth. On Sunday I was trapped between the display table and an escape by someone who probably hadn't bathed in days. Honestly, it was worse than I imagined possible.

Just thinking about it makes me want to bathe.

That'd make me want to bathe... get some Rid-X (to get rid of lice) and flea repellant.

Fortunately, at Dragoncon, I haven't run into anyone who overwhelmed my "smells like a cow pasture" sensor.

I'd love to get to Gencon one year. But major prob is that it's too close to Dragoncon and further for me to get to.
