Damn, what can I say that has not already been said? Great time, greatest people in the world to hang out with. I'm proud to know you guys. There were some I didn't get to see as much of as I would have liked (Rel, Grith, Litlbeast, Belen, Alenda), some I got to spend some good quality time kicking back and just talking (Queenie, DaveStebbins, Ladytoll, Cheiromancer), and those from the old home game crew I don't see nearly often enough (Nakia, Ethernaut). And all those who I am not mentioning by name right now because there are too many of you!

Great ENW games (thanks Buttercup, Piratecat, and francisca!), got robbed in True Dungeon due to poor running on the organizers part , and had a great time playing Car Wars with francisca, Diaglo, Hellhound, and a few others while everyone else was rushing the dealers room Thursday morning.

And finally, the ENnies (aside from the room issues) were great! And the TBR, as usual, was a boring time where nothing happened. In fact, I think less nothing happened than the previous years.

I was definitely the odd man out. Being my first ENWorld event, it was a little unnerving trying to meet people without feeling like I was "shoe-horning" my way into your conversations.

Are you kidding? You have to shoe-horn your way into that room or get lost! I definitely shoe-horned my way in! Last year my husband, Brent_Nall, and I walked in and pretty much walked out. This year I was a little more determined to walk in and actually speak to someone other than Brent. Shoe-horning your way in you learn things like Rel is not an aficionado of 13 year old boys, which I am ever so grateful for since ours was with us.

I really enjoyed 2006 GenCon more than 2005. I played 3 new games and enjoyed them all. I met a few new people which made it a lot of fun. I just might be more than a lurker on ENWorld now. Next year I think I'll make a point to go visit the ladies instead of hanging out with the Rapscallions. . .or both since the Rapscallions were so much fun!

I won't bother you with the complete details yet, but I wanted to give you a story of the day before Gen Con. You see I had a work related business trip in the latter half of July in Bangalore India, so I arrived back at the end of the month with several stacks of mail. After I found my badge I went right back to the task of work leaving the rest of my mail on the todo list. The first week of august passed when I realized ... no event tickets.

I thought I could call Monday but the staff had already turned the answering machine on. No big deal. Well I wasn't going to let it get me down, so off I went on Wednesday. Then a quick stop to Customer Service, explaining my problem. Perhaps the tickets were in Will Call by mistake? No. Well then I had to see another person who quickly printed out my tickets.

Oh joy, oh rapture. Oh what wonderful customer serivce.

And it was better and better from that moment on.

Well except for that "dance" thing. Why or why if we are all encouraged to come in costume was it required for people to have darkvision in order to see more than 5' in front of them. NEXT TIME TURN ON THE LIGHTS! (Yea I'm just miffed that I had scheduled a game of India Rails during the Costime Contest and missed out on a chance to get another 100 photographs to my Gen Con collection.)
