Gencon 2009 Indy

Yup. It will also be interesting to know how many EN Worlders will be there early on Tuesday of Wednesday, or even staying longer through Monday (which can allow for some pick up gaming on Sunday evening or early Monday).

Dude, you need to get your priorities straight. ;)

OH, you don't know how much this pains me. I have asked for and gotten the time off from work already. I'm still hopeful that I can find a way to make it work. I've only been going to the Con for a couple of years, but it has quickly become something I look forward to each year.

I've never made it and I always want too go but my finances never seem to allow it.

On that note, if it's not being to nosey, would anyone be willing to give me a ball park figure on how much they've spent on just lodging, food, and travel?

I'd love to make it next year...maybe I could start saving now!

It can be cheap if you plan ahead and bring some friends to share the hotel with. And even if you don't plan ahead, there are always folks looking for rooms/roommates.

Staying at a hamster tube hotel usually runs something like $180-250 a night. If you don't eat in the convention center itsself, they you could get buy with $20 a night for food. My group drove last year from KC and it came in under $150.

I think I spent about $30-50 more than that on food/hotel/gas contributions. This was after driving up from CT to rendezvous with 11 friends in NJ, and then driving the 12 or so hours to Indy.
