[GenCon] Convention Center maps, gaming locations

I'm one of those guys who likes to know where stuff is happening ahead of time. After a bit of a search I have come up with floorplans for the convention center.

First floor

Second Floor

PDF version of both

Ok, so for me the big "events" are the ENnies (taking place in the White River Ballroom (first floor, just NW of the stadium floor), and some seminars taking place in the Sagamore Ballroom (which will apparently be split up into sections; Sagamore's on the second floor in the NE corner).

As this is the first year here, I doubt anyone will know this, but does anyone have any idea where open gaming will take place? I ask because I'm wondering if we can coordinate some kind of a way to make sure that EN World folk will be able to find other EN World folk who might be interested in doing some gaming. Anyone have thoughts on the matter?

thanks for the maps. As to your question, your guess is as good as mine, there certainly doesn't seem to be any shortage of space thats for sure. Those halls are huge!

Comparing the floorplan with the exhibition hall layout available at the GenCon site, it looks like the exhibitors will be limited to areas A-E. I wonder if that means that all of F & G will be set up for gaming?

Ok, so for now let's start with that assumption. What would be cool, ideally, would be if there were a certain place and time where EN World people could go and expect to find a helpful person to guide them to wherever EN World gaming nirvana is taking place. Say, "In front of the White River Ballroom, ever hour on the hour" or something. I'd welcome ideas on how this might be done.

For Origins we gathered at EN Publishings booth in the Dealer room. It didn't work too well because there were very few people who showed, but we could try something like that.

A previously released tentative floor plan had

Exhibt Hall A: Card Games
Exhibit Halls B-E: Dealer Room
Exhibit Hall F: Board Games & Miniatures
Exhibit Hall G + Stadium Rooms: RPGA
Convention Center Small Rooms: Other RPGs

No open gaming was listed though I would suspect that it will end up in the second floor hallways one way or another (knowing the convention center).

Well. since I didn't get off my haft and register, I have nothing scheduled. If someone wants to run a game for EN worlders, sign me up.

The EN Publishing booth seems a fairly conventient landmark - I suggest that people use it as a sort of "EN World Hub".

The booth is part of the Twin Rose Software booth.
