GenCon Europe - Been yet

I have to say that I had a pretty good time. I played a fair amount of Living Greyhawk and wound up gaining, losing and gaining back a level.

I enjoyed the EN World game too even though my monk failed his mission and wound up with a super-valuable gem! It was great to meet (or see again) all you guys.

I spent more at the trade hall than I've ever spent at a con before.

I was interviewed for a Channel 4 programme.

I got autographs from Jonathan Tweet, Rick Loomis, John Nephew, Chris Achileos and Margaret Weis. I had a good chat with Ms Weis - what a charming person she is.

I had a private sculpting lesson from Stefan Pokorny (of Master Maze/Dwarven Forge fame).

So all-in-all I give it two thumbs up. My only regret is that it's in the Netherlands next year and I probably won't be able to go.

What channel 4 program was that? Wonder when it'll be on...?

there was a wonderful bit of Legal-ise about how buying your entry ticket gave permission for GenCon to use your image in perpetuity...*sigh*

I got interviewed for the same program, one thing they wanted to know was why my character has so many earrings in his ears amongst other things. Yup for those who may have seen me i was the elf in green with the 14 or so earings. :)

I'm proud to say i managed to survive the Living Greyhawk games this time round and make third level at last, despite the number of crits inflicted on my char.

I got Todd Lockwood to sign my PHB, DMG MM and MMII. I was gaming for most of GenCon and became a Geoff giantslayer in the process. Go me!

There shall also be pictures on this and the other thread, as soon as I get the copies from one guy I met at the Con, and also when Maldur gets back to Holland.

Hello Matt,

They didn't tell us what the programme was called only that it was about a gamer called Austin who had abandoned some RPG material (among other things) in a lock-up. They were trying to trace him or, failing that, recreate what his life is like.

Don't know when it will be shown. I don't think they knew themselves. I did ask to be told.
