GenCon Exhibition Hall Layout

Does this mean the opening gaming areas are only open when the exhibitor's hall is open? Gamers aren't going to like that.
Hmm. Now I'm more glad than ever that I got a suite.

As it has been pointed out on the Gen Con site there will be open gaming in the Dealer Hall during the regular Dealer Hall hours and 24/7 at the Hyatt starting Wednesday. There will also be a late night push cart food vender in the Hyatt open gaming area.

As for the Dealer hall having less vendeors I'm not sure, but the amount of watsted space last year with the supper wide isles could easily be turned into the open gaming space available this year.

You know, you're right.

Mmmmm. Gonna be fun to DM you, Mr. Observant....... :D
I think those spaces in the dealer room are more for the dealers to be running demos of their games. There are areas outside the dealer room for open gaming.

I'll tell you where all the extra space likely came from -- it looks like Upper Deck's booth is much smaller this year. Last year it was as big as the WotC castle and was practically a ghost town...hopefully they scaled that back.

But what was in it last year? I walked through it, but aside from the BreakKeys and that big spiral walkway leading up to 5 or 6 tables, I can't remember a thing that was there. It all seemed like a huge waste of space then, more to show how much space they could have than to actually use the space in any functional way.

Exactly my point. This year's seems smaller, so hopefully it'll be less of a waste. It was a nice place to nap, though....

I remember a big inflatable Hulk and padded carpets there ... Other than YuYu Haksho showing all the darn time ... nothing major there. I avoided it like the plague ... despite the fact I had a stress fracture in my foot while walking around the exhibitor hall, and those padded carpets felt goooooood.
