GENCON GAME: Against the Giants (GDQ) Scratch Game!

I, of course, played Wakkier, the mightiest Halfling Wizard of all time! (Well, I had decent stats and reasonable skills, anyway, which put me head and shoulders above the other PCs... not that I knew that when I took the character.) I vow that some day I shall find out what my Rod of Lesser Cooperation actually does!

PS -- You folks forgot to mention the poor monk with no tumble skill, and the 13th level rogue with only 5 ranks of hide. I was endlessly amused that my wizard was better at hiding than the rogue.

i think the wizards were the most powerful of the whole lot, that and the dual dagger wielding barbarin that punched for 20+ pts everytime.

these giants were converted over to 3e and they all had 100+ hp's, but hell not even a giant can withstand 2 cone of colds and 2 maximized fireballs..even the great cloud giant warrior dropped from a harm spell (which is sooooo broken!)...

fear the emotion dice..they hold the secrets to all..and this tick always seems to appear each time i see the charging barbarian run into the firepit to attack the giant..must..roll..the dice..to determine...state of..mind..::rolls dice:: Happy! The DM is happy that his giants died and the players had fun..::mumbles::

next year..levels in blackguard for all the giants..

Pictures

As you'll recall it was my friend Josh who had the camera, being something of an anal perfectionist he's still working on them, but here are most of the ones from the game.

Negative Zero pointing out his 17 ranks in basket weaving:

Leopold having just rolled "the DM is uncertain" on his emotion dice:

Psyke, with a self-satisfied smirk of someone who just cast a maximized fireball a quickened fireball, and one normal fireball just for good measure.

The cleric, a non-ENworlder whose name I forget but man did he work those giants:

The thief, another non-enworlder, asking us what the heck he was suppossed to do with a hide of 4:

Nine Hands' son with the must have t-shirt of the convention:

Nine Hands and his wife:

And somehow there were no pictures of me at the game except this one where I am apparently telling the wizard to summon a moose (I really have no idea). That is of course Nine Hands in front:

The indispensible ENworld Lurker, Ed, who is looking smug with all the time he saves by reading but never posting:

d20dwarf stopped by briefly, but I don't think we got a picture of him, but here he is at the FFG booth with a women who I believe is being paid to smile:

Finally a couple of combats:

As soon as my friend feels like he's ready *sigh* I'll post some more general GenCon pictures.

The mighty Howther Wakkier gets mightier by the minute!! First it was a pair of maximized fireballs. Now a maxed, a quickened, and a regular. Next thing you know I will be casting epic-level fire/acid/lightning/coldballs! :D

Clearly, everyone was impressed by the firepower of the mighty halfling mage. Er, at least, once we moved the summoned elephant out of the way of the doorway.

PS -- For the record: 1 maxed FB, 1 normal FB, and then only b/c the sorcerer was lucky enough to have mass haste and the monk had nothing better to do than piggyback carry me into battle. :)

EDIT: By the way, it's spelled p-y-s-k-e, dosh garn it!

Sorry I missed it -- too much going on, so that I didn't get to do any gaming at all, except one brief EverQuest: RPG demo on Sunday afternoon.

Maybe next year. :)
