I figured it out - I didn't look at the confirmation email.

Its nice to see nothing has changed at GenCon since the last time I went - things are already screwed up.

Be warned, there is much talk on the gencon board about what to do about he snafu. One moderator said theres a 50/50 chance that they will wipe all the reservations.

Guys, I'm one of the moderators over on the Gen Con forums, if you don't know me.

I'm waiting to hear back from Gen Con as to whether they are going to wipe registration from last night or not. It was supposed to open at noon today, not midnight, but the housing bureau opened it at the wrong time.

I will let you guys know as soon as I hear anything.

Here is the deal.

Approximately 200 people got through and made reservations last night. It was a computer error to have it open that early.

This is what Gen Con is going to do.

Housing WILL NOT OPEN at 9am Pacific, NOON eastern. Housing WILL OPEN at 11AM Pacific, 2PM eastern.

The Housing Bureau is, right now, in the process of calling/emailing those people that registered last night in error. Those reservations will be wiped. As welll, an email blast will be sent out informing everyone of the change in time of registration. Housing reg will be a clean slate when it opens.

I'm sorry, I know not everyone is going to be happy with this; but, I think it's about as fair as can be under the circumstances. I wish you all luck with your registrations, and remember that you're going to have a great time at Gen Con, no matter where you stay.

Thanks, marimacc. I think this is fair, and hope they can contact everyone (they shoudl be able to, as contact info is necessary to make the reservation in the first place).
