[GenCon] Indy Things To Do

Chaldfont

First Post
As a former (and hopefully near future) resident of Indianapolis, I have to suggest a few places for those of you lucky enough to go to GenCon to check out. I miss these places dearly since I moved away last November and hope to see them again soon.

Jimmy John's for subs. You can't beat Jimmy's bread. And its cheaper than Subway. I subsisted almost entirely on Slim 1's throught college. 17 N Pennsylvania.

Acapulco Joes for Mexican. Go around noon so you can hear God Bless America being played. Read about Joe and his American Dream. 365 N Illinois.

India Garden for Indian Buffet. This place is the cause of many sleepy afternoon business meetings at my old job. 143 N Illinois.

Nicky Blaines for martinis and cigars. Nice atmosphere for drinks and jazz. Just don't move their chairs around. 7 N Meridian.

Slippery Noodle Inn for beer, lunch and live blues. John Dillenger shot up the place once. Eat a Blue Hen for me. They are heaven. 372 S Meridian.

Sniff. I miss them all.

Thanks, Chaldfont!

We Indy Newbies need stuff like this!

Alas poor Milwaukee, it hosts Gencon no longer, but it's time for GC to forge NEW legends!

(I still hope the August Gamefest goes well, though.)

Oh dear god, if there's one thing I love, it's an Indian buffet. I would run over my own grandmother with a lawnmower to get to an Indian buffet.
