Less than Jake is a great band, so I'll second Angelsboi there.

In a similar vein, try Operation Ivy. Old ska/punk from Oakland CA. Much of OpIvy ended up in Rancid. "Sound System" is a great travelling song. It'll get you moving.

And you can't forget the Beastie Boys:
