Gencon Role Call

GenCon: Absoutely.
ENnies: No question.
Scheduled Events: None so far.
Pickup Games: I'll be looking to play some games in the Spycraft/D20 Modern/D20 Future type. Played some Midnight last year, and that was great, so maybe I'll try to find another game of that.

ENWorld Badges: I'd love to get one of those this year - I was too late signing up last year.

I will be at GenCon this year.

You will most likely find me sitting at the Osseum Entertainment booth running pick up games of Grim Tales while my girlfriend hovers nearby to lure gamers in with cleavage and knee-high boots. (Just because my products can stand on their own doesn't mean I can't pimp them shamelessly.)

I will be at the ENnies, too, and will also be looking to actually play in a few games this year. Last year's trip was too hurried and I spent too little time actually at GenCon and too much time shopping and sightseeing with the girlfriend. This year, warning has been given: It's all about the gaming.

Attending Gencon? (obviously yes, lol)
Yes. But this is work, not play, for me.

Attending Ennies? Yes or No.
I dunno. Strictly speaking, i'm actually free--not actually running a game at that time. OTOH, i'm running, helping out with, or supervising 31 4hr RPG events this year, so i might be run a bit ragged already by then.

Any Specific Planned Events you want fellow Enworlders to join?
Well, that sounds like my opening to say "hey, come play in the cool games we're running!" To see what i'm talking about, you can snag a handy-dandy PDF flyer of all the events at http://www.tiltingatwindmills.net/sharing/gencon2004flyer.pdf , or just poke around our website ( http://www.tiltingatwindmills.net ). Most of the events haven't filled up yet, and i'd love to have people i sorta-know giving our games a shot.

Pickup game schedule or what not. And anything else you can think of.

One more thing. Its too early for me to say 100% right now. But try to keep your night clear after the Ennies. I'm trying to organize a big shindig for Enworlders. More info to follow.

Actually, what i want to know is why i should go to the Ennies themselves? I want to know who wins, but i'm perfectly content to wait until the next day (or even the next month) to find out. Meeting/hanging with people sounds very cool, but that part sounds like it'd mostly be after the ceremony, not during. So, if one isn't into ceremonies, is there any reason to attend the Ennies, or should i just show up at the end? ;)

oh, and on an after-ceremony shindig: any chance it'll be friendly for the non-smokers?

For any questions about the after cermony shindig i'm throwing, please post in THAT thread.
the link is in my sig.

As for why you should go to the ennies?
its a fun event in and of itself.
You get to see how most devs are real people too.

Picked up Grim Tales a little over a week ago-- really really dig it.

The husband and I will, no doubt, be stopping by to play a game.

And I'm really, really diggin' the good worth of mouth I am getting so far. Thanks! (Just waiting for a review or five, now!)

I'll have Slavelords of Cydonia to show off, mainly, but I will also have a couple of the adventures I used to playtest the rules-- a nice Victorian-era League of Extraordinary Gentlemen romp and a Fallout post-apocalyptic "mystery."

If I have time I'll try to outline a quick 3rd adventure in a fantasy genre... And rework all of them to play through a little faster (2-3 hours, I hope).

I'm looking forward to seeing these too. I was hoping for something along the lines of LoEG. Thanx!
