[GenCon] - Run by idiots!

OK, GenCon is run by idiots. Let's hope Peter Adkison can make it better next year.

I was a good boy. I got my badge right away. I also ordered my tickets the first day I could. Then, I leave my house at 6:30 a.m. this morning to get here by 6:40 and get in line to pick up my tickets.

So, why am I posting to EN World at 9:14 am CDT, when my first gaming slot started at 8:00 a.m. today?

Because GenCon is run by idiots.

I got to stand in line for 90 minutes. (After I had stood in another line for 10 minutes). All this was after the doors opened late at 7:04 a.m.

It was about 8:40 when I finally got my tickets. So, why a 90 minute wait in line? One ticket was missing. I was actually "being helped" by 7:52 a.m. I could have made my game. But no, I had to wait 40 minutes to get a ticket--for a game that's not even today--for one ticket to print out.

So, I'm mad at the GenCon idiots. I've already missed one slot, and who knows what else they will screw up this weekend.

There. I'm done venting.

seriuosly, having been a victim of the art show circuit for a long time i know how frustrating all that can be...i have beeen subjected to "but, sculpture isn't art" and "if you wanted to be set up for saturdday, you should have gotten here tuesday" and "what do you mean by reservation?" and "just beause you got a cancelled check doesn't mean we owe you a space" and on and on ....

any activity involving more than 10 people will inconvenience 2, upset 2 and possibly cripple 1
