0-cha female characters

Usually I DM so some of the NPC's have positive others negative mods. to any given stat.

I have yet to actually "play" a female character in 2nd or 3rd ed. though.

My experience is that some GMs will really harshly penalize a female PC with a low Charisma. Sort of the equivalent of a GM who insists that if your INT is less than 9, you must talk in Orc-Bonics. ("Me mighty warrior!") Or maybe of having a NO FAT CHICKS bumper-sticker on your miniatures case. If you're playing with one of these guys, or if your gaming experience has been with them, I can see why you'd be reluctant to have low Charisma.

For my rogue, it's perfect. High Charisma means people notice you and pay attention to you--not something a rogue or shadowdancer wants.

My current female character has a charisma of 8. She's attractive enough, but her personality brings it down a bit. Its an evil campaign, and lets just say the girl has issues.

hmmmm....

Now that I think of it, no. I have never played a female character with an average or low charisma.....

But the main female character I have played over the years was a paladin and the other was a bard. :) However, I have played a few other minor (usually one-shot) female characters but those hardly count as I barely remember them.

I usually make the character a female rather than a male as a twist or depending on the world/situation. Sometimes it's just more fun or the idea doesn't work for a male. I have found it's harder at times, since I'm not a female I really don't know how one would act.

But this gives me an interesting idea for a future character. Playing a female with a low charisma would make for some great RP moments, I think.

... so, good thread. :)

I haven't actually voted, because I don't feel like I can without skewing the results toward what your looking for, based on the responces you presented. Yes I don't believe I've ever played a female character with a negative charisma modifier, but on the other hand I almost universely play male characters with higher charisma (I can only think of one male character I've ever played that has had a charisma lower than the 12-13 range). The point is this, I don't play women with higher charisma because I think women have higher charisma than men, I do it because I like charismatic people in general. And so I will not contribute to your poll.

The last female PC I played was an elven Paladin; she obviously had a high charisma.

Prior to that, I once played a female gnome cleric with a giant owl mount. She had a 10 charisma. Played her as kind of a witch character, so it fit (at least with her).

I've also have played a female troll illusionist in EarthDawn, who would use her magic to make herself pretty. Also, played a pair of Star Trek Binars in a StarHero campaign, where the female partner was kind of a rough and tumble mechanical wiz. Looking good wasn't her thing.
