though given Patlin's track record I could see why Jack would refuse
Wow, I'm glad you quoted me. I mixed up my own character's name, which turned my sentence into a completely unintended knock on Patlin. I meant to say Planus's track record. Patlin's track record is terrific. Planus's on the other hand...

Planus will be announcing his vision soon. Patlin, anything particular to include in the vision? Jack is welcome to accompany him, though given Patlin's track record I could see why Jack would refuse.

Cold, cold, words! And here I was thinking only Manzanita made fun of me on a regular basis! Though if you're willing to step back into the meat grinder that my adventures seem to be percieved as, at least it shows you had fun. :) I do like combat, and I don't pull punches much. The other side is I give out the xp that those difficult combats merit. I think most of the high level characters in LEW have been on one or more of my adventures.

A vision like this would be apropriate, though certainly customize it as apropriate to the Mongrel. A big lake to the northeast, shark like creatures that walk on land spilling out of the lake, and a blunt weapon forged of cold iron are some of the important elements.

Oops. Ah well, I didn't take it personally. :D

DH, thank you for really spelling out things clearly. As a new judge I am always concerned that I am doing the right thing. If I acted defensively its just the way I approaching things and I apologize to all in this discussion. I'll keep in mind your concerns when new proposals come up as I seem to be able to comment on most in this latest slew.

I do know that I have slightly different bias when it comes to proposals. Its not a person's position that gets preferrance in my head, its layout and consistency. If a proposal is clean, follows WotC layout standards, is clear and balanced I will give it priority first. That is not to say that I will disregard others. It is as you pointed out just easier to get off my plate before helping those that are not as technically written come to a completed format that I'd vote in. I like to spend the time to help out, but its just the way I work. I do it in my current position IRL too. This doesn't affect which proposals I'd vote yes on and those I'd try to veto. I try to remain as unbiased as I can when it comes to content. If it adds to the world I'd like to see it in. Point in fact, GW's Learner. I spent a lot of time with him while I was a player trying to make that fit and be balanced.

Jack would be only too happy to tag along... so long as Patlin doesn't mind.

I'd like no more than three new characters, and no one less than level 3. The adventures to tough at this point for a level 1 or 2 character to have much hope of survival, as the 40 Merfolk 2nd level warriors the party recently recruited have demonstrated.

With me it's all about subject matter. I'm starting to understand craft points, but have previously been reluctant to weigh in on them. My familiarity with the existing pantheon is low, so I rarely weigh in on god proposals. I'm faster to comment on things I'm convinced I completely understand, so a feat proposal will get a quicker response than a prestige class proposal. Feats are generally simpler than entire prestige classes.

Also, my schedule greatly influences how quickly I look at proposals. If I'm slammed, I probably don't look at any proposals at all. If I have time, I systematically work my way through all the proposals on the front page of LEW. As I mentioned above, however, that doesn't mean I comment on every one I look at.

If Jack and Planus go, Opale could follow too. Now a third level wizard, she could gives a little hand. And having seen one of your adventure, Patlin, it will be a nice challenge for Opale, as she is anything except a combat wizard (forbidden school: Evocation, Necromancy), but not being a walking artillery doesn,t mean you can't do your part in a combat, you must just be more creative.

You're right, I hadnt thought of that. When it comes to pantheon, craft points, UA stuff, and feats I generally give it first priority, but subject matter does come into it. The job system and prestige classes take me more time to evaluate than other things. And yes work schedule/RL timing definitely plays a big part in how I spend my time looking at proposals.
