Yes, I am the Huptman's daughter.

I read his games sometimes and he let me play in a game around Christmas.

D&D is fun, my Mom says I am too young but Daddy made a game with not so much killing and more other stuff. Made her say it was ok. (He said was the only time he'd openly disagree with Mommy - he thinks I am old enough.) I can read the books and do the math.

So where are the players stuff on here? I like to read about players historys.
As someone who started playing when I was 7 with my Dad, welcome :)

There are character histories in the character threads, and there is some word background in some of the other stickied threads.

Hi, I just got home from Afghanistan and the kid has obviously figured out how to use the account I made her.

Thanks to those of you who took the time to make her feel welcome. I need to get settled a bit then we'll work on a character for her. Probably won't be for a couple days at the earliest.

I am glad to be home, although sadly, not all of my team made it this time. Lost a good man 5 days before we left he will receive the Silver Star (posthumously) for his contributions. I have to escort his effects to his family late tomorrow and won't be back home till early WEDs.

That's tough duty. My thoughts are with you and your bud's family.

On a lighter note, my 12-yo thinks your 9-yo is too cute! :)

He had a wife and 2x little girls. They have already had the funeral and stuff. The family is usually notified withing 12 hours of confirmation in person. I made a phone call to her and his mom personally and wrote letters to his brother and sister.

I am just taking her all of his clothes and stuff he brought with him. Pictures, letters, his laptop, stuff like that.

Its actually not a "duty" I am making the trip by choice and paying for it myself. We are supposed to box it up and send it fed-ex but with us leaving 5 days after the firefight I think its the right thing to do.

On the lighter side LIL'Hauptman's photo is attached. The rodent is Prince Possum. (She thinks he looks like a possum, so do I really.)

Cool photo.

I have a correction. My 11-yo informs me that she will not be 12 for 25 more days.

They get that way when they get that old, just thought you'd like to know. :\

I told my 5 year old about Lil'Hauptman, and she immediately announced that she wanted to play, too. She's *really* too young, buy maybe I can parley it into incentive to practice reading! :)

My oldest (age 6) has wanted to play for some time. I can tell him he needs to learn to read & type better. When the time comes though, he's actually going to have to clear it with his mom.

In any case, welcome back DerHaupman. I look forward to having one of my PCs go on a counterinsurgency adventure in DerHaupman land (Just North of the Faery woods?). I would think your job lends itself to DnD ideas much more than say, being an employee benefits consultant... :uhoh:

That's so cute!

You guys should get your kids in one game on here--Lew4Kidz. You could help them read the tougher words and such.

Heh, that would be funny--Manzanita's son would be the only male in the group too, so if the adventure involved unicorns, he'd just have to bear with them
