Wasn't meant as an accusation. Just that a more organized "New folks come here" thread would be nice.El Jefe said:That's inexcusable. You have my complete apology. I've already revised the first post in The Guide to Living EN World thread in an attempt to make this place a little less chaotic. Other judges are welcome to expand and improve on my efforts.
Moonstone Spider, please bear with us. We're trying to provide an environment that is both accommodating and fun for both DMs and players. Part of that is allowing enough "house rules" in to allow for creativity and fun. But another important part of that is sticking to the SRD, and making those house rules easily accessable to DM's, so that they don't get swamped with a lot of unfamiliar stuff to adjudicate. Our proposal system answers that and works well, but it does tend to clutter up the front page sometimes.
Also, we've had as many as 20 different adventure threads active at one time. That's in addition to well over a hundred concluded adventures that linger around on the back pages. Since this is a living world, events in those old adventures resonate throughout the world and can have consequences literally years in the future (if DMs and players so desire).
Since all of this stuff is active at once (proposals, adventures, in-character recruiting, and out-of-character discussion on this thread), LEW can seem a little chaotic and even intimidating to a newcomer. Again, my apologies, and I'll try to be a little more sensitive to this. I hope the other judges follow suit.
No accusation needed. It is what it is. When someone wanders around here for days trying to get situated, we have some housecleaning to do!Moonstone Spider said:Wasn't meant as an accusation. Just that a more organized "New folks come here" thread would be nice.
That might be a headache to adjudicate, but I'll let others comment on that. Tell you what, I'll cut and paste your alternate proposal into the "UA Paladins" thread, where I think it better fits. If someone thinks that deserves a thread of its own, we can do that, too.Moonstone Spider said:I had a thought on the PoS question. What if, instead of adding in three new Paladins, the Paladin was just given so leeway to define her own code, and all four extreme alignments are allowed? Something like this: (suggestion omitted for brevity)
