I created findoram about october/november last year, he is currently level 2.
He crafted for 245gp (market vale) which comes out to a difference in GP to 122.5-81.6=40.9 GP.
The sad part is that he had to sell his MW artisan tools during the adventure to cough up cash, which he wouldn't had to do with this cash at hand :(

Eheeheeehee.

Unknown term aside...... From what I've read so far the Sairundani don't fit what I had in mind, so I guess I'll shift the monastic community to somewhere between the Lands of Air and Lands of Fire, in some kind of fissure or atop a small plateau. I'll look at Eternity's background though and see if that island-monastery place is suitable to my character idea instead.

Well, the Lands of Air are a big place, and Sairundan is just a part of it. I'm sure there's plenty of place in them left. Also note, between the Lands of Air and the Lands of Fire also lies the Lands of Negative Energy.

Which reminds me that we really do need a mapper or two...

The ziivash is like a web that connects all living things (but not undead--they are a null void of cold horror). Everyone has a personal ziivash, which is like an aura, and it can be tweaked and massaged by a Telepath to make them more submissive, or whatever else she wants to do. Egoists alter their own ziivash to augment their power. The universal ziivash has patterns that can be read by Seers. Nomads can alter the positions of things in the ziivash. Shapers can actually drip substance from the threads to create new things (the greatest can even create new worlds with their own mini-ziivash using Genesis). Psychokineticists can burn or destroy threads of the ziivash and even send that destruction into nulls such as undead.

In the place from which Lasair hails, Seers are the most highly respected for their knowledge, then Telepaths for their ability to lead and make peace. Nomads are considered useful for their utility power. Egoists are considered selfish due to the fact that they only buff themselves. Shapers are considered to be filled with hybris and arrogant, trying to be like gods unto themselves (though they have no concept of gods, that's the best way to express the sentiment). Psychokineticists are considered dangerous madmen with no respect for the ziivash or the world. Those of other specialties who grab one or two psychokinetic powers in order to battle undead are fine, but those who specialise in psychokinetics must be destroyers at heart.

I'm an amateur mapper. I made this a couple years ago, drawn by hand and then edited with some photoshop. I actually plan to sketch a new world map and scan it in for everybody to comment on, but that may take a while. Admittedly, my drawing skills are less than awesome, but since we've had no mapper since Scorpio (and that was even before my time, I think), I'd like to take on the task. It may not be professional, but at least the creator will enjoy doing it. :)

Regarding Psionics and the Ziivash: Ever since Someone's "Ominous Humm", I've had bouncing around in my head an idea for a psion-wizard that emulates the Towers by becoming a "humanoid Tower" in his own right. Combined with the ziivash (the Force, anyone?), it could be an explanation for psionics, one that I'm very fond of. Wizards and sorcerers manipulate the energy of the towers. Psions are like miniature Towers, they serve as focal points or nexuses or even producers of the energy floating around in the world (maybe the ziivash?). But there could be multiple explanations, and they don't all have to match up.

Sooo..... Does that shoehorn particular kinds of psionicist into particular alignments? -_- Or just represent one culture's view/expectations of different psionics?

That is, separate from the basic manner in which ziivash functions (I see no problems with the actual functioning of it, just the shoehorning of particular psionic specialties apparently deranging people; unlike arcane and divine magic, where there are alignment descriptors and such for spells that are evil/chaotic/lawful/good in nature, psionics doesn't generally use descriptors; it's all in what the manifester uses their powers to accomplish).

Knight_Otu: Yeah, slipped my mind for a bit that the land between air-dominant and fire-dominant regions was itself negative-dominant. *facepalm* So I'll work on something to plop into a corner of the Lands of Air. Eternity's background is neat, but a few aspects don't quite fit what I was thinking about, and I don't think one more small, relatively-isolationist community with psionic inclinations would be problematic. Ties in with the deity idea I'm brainstorming and going to submit in a thread soon, assuming I figure out the details and post it on Thursday just before or after I have to go out and about on errands all day.

Since then I've been thinking on proposing "about the origin of psionics", something about psionics in the world, how diferent traditions view psionics and some feats and alternate class features based on that. Nothing definitive - they would be philosophies, not absolute truths.

The ziivash concept functions seperately from the cultureal assignments. So other cultures might have different interpretations of each specialty. But to be from that specific area (which is somewhat Aiel like if you know of the Wheel of Time books) that's how they see things.

Juliana's mistress Katrina is a Warmind, and offers psychic warrior training. Origionaly, she tought women with potential one at a time, often finding ones who were downtrodden or had been used, and there were some "other" potential undertones there as well ;). But now it's more of an accademy, and and Katrina has softened a bit with age. Juliana still is most likely her most sucessful pupil to date, but there is no reason other psychic warriors might not come from her training grounds (which is a few days northwest of Rivensblight). Her focus is more on chaneling internal will to external strength, so in many ways, it's more like a monk/martial arts type of training.

On a side note, She needs a chance to buy a psychic reformation soon.
