On the subject of city names, is it coincidence or a private joke that Orussus is also the genus name of some sphexish parasitic wasps, the sawflies?

Sooo..... Does that shoehorn particular kinds of psionicist into particular alignments? -_- Or just represent one culture's view/expectations of different psionics?

That is, separate from the basic manner in which ziivash functions (I see no problems with the actual functioning of it, just the shoehorning of particular psionic specialties apparently deranging people; unlike arcane and divine magic, where there are alignment descriptors and such for spells that are evil/chaotic/lawful/good in nature, psionics doesn't generally use descriptors; it's all in what the manifester uses their powers to accomplish).

Well, the paragraph about Lasair's culture was separate from the first for a reason It's just the cultural biases, though the one about Shapers holds true for my Shaper Zaeryl. That culture has no spellcasters of any kind, only psionics, and as far as I know, they are the most heavily psionic-biased of any culture in LEW. Anyways, I don't care who uses or doesn't use the ziivash as long as we never adopt a coherent explanation for psionics that is something else (like the mini-tower thing). Also, other cultures probably wouldn't call it ziivash.

Coincidence. The explanation given was a portmanteau of "Morrus" and "Russus".

I should mention that I"m totally behind on character approvals. Sometimes I think I'll catch up but it hasn't been happening. I do work on it at times, but I'm not going to approach the efficiency of Orsal or Rae.

So I'm hereby offering the job to someone else if they want it. If no one else qualified volunteers to be the character approval judge, I'll keep slugging away at it. But I thought I ought to throw this out there.

Just in case it got lost in the flurry of posts earlier in the week, both B4cchus and I offered to help out with character approvals. No big deal if we're not suitably qualified - just didn't want the offer of help to get lost.
