That works for me as well. I'm just impressed that the game doesn't have a strong deus ex machina feel to it, with the Sin character so much higher than the party.
Ah, well I thought it out pretty carefully, and it's worked out so far. If you're interested in reading the details of why, read below, otherwise you can ignore it.

It was actually possible (and likely) to complete the adventure without even letting her out, since she was sealed even within the sealed tower, and there's a magical ward around the seal that prevented the Aspects or Wraiths from using spells on it. Letting her out required one of the PCs to prepare Dispel Magic (they did) cast it (they did) and beat the target DC of 24 on the Dispel check (they did  ).

Then after that, even if they did let her out, there's a place right across the hall from her room where she can't enter without being destroyed, but the PCs can, so all they had to do was run into there, and the McGuffin (the literal Crux of the Matter) is also there, which can destroy her remotely (destroy the Crux and destroy everything in the tower). Plus she was initially sleeping in her negligee, so she spends a whole bunch of rounds getting dressed, giving plenty of time to flee.

Of course, at least one of the PCs didn't use this time to flee, so she wound up picking off Hogarth before the rest got away, but fortunately, Sin isn't one of those ranting murderous maniacs, and she's willing to negotiate if they don't destroy the Crux and kill her and her children, so they're now having a whole negotiation, and Rinaldo gets to put that whole highest-Diplomacy-in-LEW Negotiator thing to good use!

All in all, there were a variety of different outs, and the adventure is quite interesting that way. Admittedly, there actually is no deus ex machina solution. If the party dispelled the seal and freed Sin then stayed around to fight her and refused to flee no matter what, they would have simply stood a remarkably high chance of wiping out--they had plenty of warning not to do that, so they didn't. Of course, if they somehow had beaten Sin, they would have gained the most incredible treasure haul in LEW history (actually, not counting Goruksblain, since that's an artifact and such, they may have already gained the most incredible treasure haul in LEW history).

If there was something that was railroaded, it was that we free Sin, as half the party had been charmed, but even then, nobody can't blame RA for that move, it was Tenebrynn, whose was not charmed who cast the Dispel Magic...

And now, I have an headache to find the least worst solution and that means to talk a lot. At least, Sin is not the stereotipical evil enemy who just want teh destuction of the world... I must say she doesn't have any emotion and that make her a bloody cold calculator who see only at her own survival and profits and I hope to give her back some Joy and Hope in her heart and make her... more human. But humans aren't perfect :\

Yep, you guys were just tricked into opening the wrong one ;) If you hadn't done it, the same fight would have happened, but no Sin. You guys might have actually won that one, although Eve is no cakewalk either.

I've had a death in the family, and am unsure of my availability for the next few days. Please NPC me as appropriate till I get back.

My condolences to you and your family. Take as much time as you need--we'll still be here.

Let me join the chorus of condolences. Bront, I know from experience that you need to avoid stress in the coming weeks. Feel free to take whatever pace in your games you're comfortable with. If you find it a worthwhile escape to plunge into them, that's great, but if you don't and want to slow down, we'll all understand.
