KO and I are both judging Ashin's. I'll be the official judge of that. RA was the judge of Ashin's and took it over.

Bounty of the Endless Sands should ahve the same judge as Imortality awakens, as it's an offshoot of that, as is Showdown.
It's not really an offshoot--it's a separate adventure that met with the IA adventure to create a new adventure. Similar to how A Teacher for Laynie and The Crux of Matter built off of things from Immortality Awakens also. I figure with El Jefe's thread dead, nobody else will ever connect to my adventures, so I might as well have a little interplay amongst the ones that I run ;)

An now for something completely different. Is an NPC opponent with base class levels an opponent of CR=base class level, assuming no LA?

Supposedly yes, in theory. In actuality, they tend to be a huge amount weaker than any other encounter of that CR. I cringe when I have to award XP for NPCs because it is always too high, but as far as I know, according to LEW XP policy, my hands are tied.

Of note, LA doesn't matter at all. A Tiefling Rogue 10 is CR 10 just like a Human Rogue 10. There are separate CR adjustments, sometimes radically different (Vampire is CR +2 and LA +8!)

Also the level up style stat raises do give more points.
You mean at L4, L8, etc.? So if you boost Int by 1 and change the modifier, the new modifier applies for L4, L8, etc. skill points?

Yes. In fact I'll give you a perfect example. My Shaper Zaeryl had 17 Int, so he got 20 SP at level 1 and 5 per level until level 4. At level 4, he found an unidentified Dark Elf Circlet that gives him +2 Int, and he took a stat raise in Int, for a total of 20. But only 18 of it counts for skill points. He does not get any retroactive skill points for the first three levels, but from now on, he gets 6 per level. It's really quite clunky and inelegant, and thus it's the exact opposite of Constitution, which elegantly applies retroactive HP so that you don't have to worry about bookkeeping of when the Int was raised (since a Mystic Theurge who starts with Wis 17 and Int 18 and raises Wis to 18 at level 4 will have more SP than an otherwise-identical Mystic Theurge who starts with Wis 18 and Int 17 and raises Int to 18 at level 4).

I just realizes that my game, di Senzio's Tournement, is judged by a missing judge, El Jefe.
Er, I'm still here. I don't have as much access as I'd like, but I've been able to follow the story up until about yesterday.

Regarding the item pricing discussion that has been taking place. As far as I understood the caster level for the enhancement bonus (only) was based on the *3 prerequisite. When it comes to special abilities it is based on the spell prerequisites and determines caster level as any other item.

Example 1.
Flaming Longsword +3
Caster Level required: 9th (3*3) instead of 5th (fireball @ 5th).

Shortsword of Speed +1
Caster Level required: 5th (haste @ 5th) instead of 3rd (1*3)

Now price wise these two items cost the same thing: 32,000gp. Which translates to 1280XP, which typically imposses another limit on the caster level because you can't spend so much experience that you've lost a level (you can however postpone advancing a level in order to spend XP on item creation). In this case that is only 2nd level which does not have an impact here.

With regards to the Judging, sounds like its all under control.

I really like the idea of making the most powerful wizard in the most economically prosperous city in the region... level 10. It's different from what I'm used to playing, and it means that PCs will really be world-shakers, which is exactly what I want in LEW.
Creamsteak was adamant in stating that this is what he wanted for LEW...for characters above mid-level to be earth shakers. We agreed that there were once higher level characters about, and that great deeds were done in the past. But as the great evils (or great unbalances) in the world were defeated, these great heroes faded away. They may have lived out their lives, permanently relocated to some other plane, or merely be hiding, biding their time for when they are needed again.

So, the highest level NPC's that are common knowledge are about 10th level or so. Anything higher level than that should be introduced as part of an adventure, and should be "special"...not just the local magic item vendor or the local priest (unless they are a high-level character masquerading as some low to mid-level local).

Time of reaction: 20 days :p

Ok, it's just I didn't saw a post from you for some times, but if your still here, that's great.
