I've had a death in the family, and am unsure of my availability for the next few days. Please NPC me as appropriate till I get back.
Allow me to extend my most profound sympathy.

My sympathies to you also Bront. See you back here and in Living Supers when you can again.

Quick question for you LEW vets. I am making up my 3rd LEW character and wanted an item for him that isn't in any of the books anywhere. I want him to have and wear a helmet with horns coming off of it (ram's curling horns for now I guess). My problem is that there is no seperate listing for just a helmet in the PHB. I can't get full plate obviously and it's not the kind of helmet I want anyway. So, can anyone give me an idea if I can just wing this somehow and if so what kind of price would be appropriate for a functional yet decorative horned helm?

Thanks for any help.

Make upa price based on how cool-looking/expensive you want it to be--it does absolutely nothing.

Since it does nothing (mechanics-wise), I'd say you could even include it in the cost of your armor. Unless it has gems or something inherently valuable in it.

I agree with this. Note that a breastplate includes a helmet and a chain shirt includes a steel cap. It seems wierd to me that a chain shirt would include a helmet and heavier armor like scale would not so I would say describe your helmet however you want as long as you are wearing some kind of armor.

If you want it to be particularly flashy or don't plan to wear any armor, take a look at the different clothings. An entertainer's outfit for 3 gp is described as gaudy, a noble's outfit has gems and precious metals woven in for 30 gp, etc. That might help give a metric for how much something fancy might cost.

I'm with Rystil and Rae with that. A number of armors include helmets already, and a horned helmet is a common image. It's just decorative, so a smallish price tag should suffice if there should be a price tag at all and not included in the armor price.

By the way, in case you've stopped reading Crux for the moment, I'll just point out here that Ashna is alive again now--and without even losing any XP!

Here's an interesting question--My split-off thread for Rinaldo only in Crux of the Matter has 2 replies and 24 views. Assuming the other players in the game are being good little campers and keeping out of the threads for one separate player only, that means there are 20 out of 24 views beyond those necessary by the GM and player to post. I'm flattered, but I'm wondering who's reading it?

I haven't read that particular thread (yet), but I'll sometimes read an adventure for entertainment purposes. I've even gone back and read some of the old adventures.
