I gave the Character Approval thread's List of Approved Characters an overhaul. I've been teaching myself Microsoft Access for work, and now the whole page is pretty much automatically generated based off of a character database I built. (No snide remarks, please! 
) It was excellent practice, and now I'm a database guru at the office.
Anyway, it didn't make sense to me to have 2 lists, so now there's just one line per character. I've also split all the characters into Active and Inactive groups. I very well may have made some incorrect assumptions and/or stupid mistakes regarding player activity, so please don't be offended if I put you in the inactive list and you're not! If I've made any mistakes at all, just make a post here, and I'll fix it ASAP.
It's all pretty easy to change, so if we decide we'd rather not distinguish between active and inactive characters, that's perfectly reasonable and easily remedied. Likewise, if you don't think Alignment or gender should be on the list, it's a simple matter of deleting one field and re-generating the list, so don't hesitate to comment. We could easily group them by level, or by player, or whatever really.
Does anybody know anything about these characters? They were on the previous list, but they have no posts in the thread. I assume they were lost in the crash and their players never returned.

Total Approved Characters in Enworld: 305
Total Active Characters in Enworld: 99
Males outnumber females 5 to 1.
Fighter is clearly the most popular class to take a level in, followed closely by Rogue.
Historically, Clerics are a close third in popularity, but currently Wizards outnumber Clerics.
Quarion Holimion is the only active Druid.
Conuld is the only Transmuter in Enworld, ever.
Only one level of Wilder has ever been taken.
The same goes for Aristocrat and Dragon Disciple.
None of those three characters are currently active.
Human is by far the most popular race, making up almost 50% of the population.
Human is distantly followed by Elf, Dwarf, and Halfing, in that order.
Historically, Half-orc is a more popular choice than gnome, though currently 2 Half-orcs and 5 Gnomes are in play.
Currently in Enworld, a dwarf is more likely to be a rogue than a halfling.
Historically, though, a halfling is almost than twice as likely to be a rogue than a dwarf.
Chance of being inactive if your account name is the same as your character name: 75%
Chance otherwise: 68%
More than a third of all active characters worship no deity.
Of the remaining two thirds, Grendath is the most popular, closely followed by Mongrel and, perhaps surprisingly, Phyrah.
Ayratha is more popular among the current characters than she has been historically.

Oh, and I determined "inactive" characters by making educated guesses based on the last time they were seen in the forums and the last time their character was edited.

Cool stuff, Rae. Poor Lasair--I see so many characters who started out with her or after her and are now up there on the highest level characters list. Heh, at least her luck with games is better than my Beguiler from Living Eberron.

I love it. Thanks, Rae. Who'd of thought there'd be more Katara active than half elves. Are they really that bad?
I did notice one error. Jack Haggarty is a rogue/fighter 2/2, not 4/4. Poor guy. I think that's one of the reasons his player left; the guy was advancing at the speed of a slug.
I don't suppose you have XPs and start date in your DB. I would be curious who the fastest and slowest advancers were in the active group. I think Vanitri must top that list. Slowest is harder, Tor or Semabin, perhaps...
As for my records, Iggy seems to have the most levels in a single class (7 in wizard), though, clearly, Tenebrynn could kick his ass 5 ways to sunday. Percy, meanwhile, has 2/3rds of the active sorcerer levels...
