With the judge account, I managed to move the post for you.

As far as I know, we only had Umralar as the only wayang character. He went AWOL half way through his first adventure and hasn't returned as far as I know. So, the count stands at zero.

Not really. They didn't want to put in too many things that make people want to jump ship from the standard races and rush to the new exotic ones. So, the exotic ones have a little less going for them. But, the wayang does have:
* only small race without a strength penalty
* darkvision. This is a major bonus in many people's eyes.
* The oracle is getting arcane illusion spells added to its list

So, they look interesting, but are not an optimization favorite. A lot can still be done with them though.

Couple of Questions about Wizards:

If your familiar can speak a language (Raven, Thrush, Parrot) and you then take Linguistics ranks, your familiar also receives the skill ranks. Do they learn the new language as well?

Also when selecting a familiar, the master gets some benefit from the type creature they selected. (i.e. Raven grants +3 on Appraise). If you later take Improved Familiar, do you lose the bonus? Or is there a default bonus that you get with all improved familiars?

a) No. The familiar didn't put the rank into the skill. It doesn't get the bonus ability of adding a language.
From the APG, cast the 2nd level Share Language spell once a day. You get to bestow on the creature one language that you know per five levels.

b) Yes, you lose the bonus and gain the bonus of the new familiar. So, going from toad to greensting scorpion will lose 3 hp and gain +4 init. Improved familiars don't have bonuses that they bestow. They have other cool features like innate spell casting of their own instead.

Question on oversized weapons:

I have a question on oversized crossbow. If a medium character were to use a giant size heavy crossbow she would receive a -4 to hit penalty (-2 per size category difference) would the damage be 3d8 (table only goes to large in the rukebook). What would the weight be?

I am thinking of trying a ranger with an oversized crossbow as a large damage sniper type (if she could hit anything).
