We have a good-sized group here in LPF but there are still a bunch of people out there who don't play Pathfinder or don't play in LPF. Posting a Looking for Game/Interest check type thread in the Talking the Talk section would probably get you some comment and discussion.

As for DMing: it's hard to do well, but at the most basic level it isn't that difficult. And we are especially tolerant of new DMs here, I think. The easiest way to get started is to have a single encounter and a reason for the PCs to get involved in that encounter. Brief roleplay, a fight, some wrap-up and you've DM'd your first adventure and earned a DMC or two towards that third character.

If it helps: I second this sentiment wholeheartedly (especially the "especially tolerant" bit). I DMed my first game ever here on LPF, likely significantly earlier than I "should have." There were some spotty moments, but I kept it fairly simple, and in the end, learned a heck of a lot. As GE said, don't be afraid to run something that is bare bones. Heck, look at 'Ties that Bind' - we've been playing for months, and at present have had two encounters and a still-in-progress skill challenge. Not that it'll always be that way....

If you don't want to come up with something from scratch, just hunt the interwebs for "free Pathfinder adventure." There's a lot of 'em out there, and if nothing else, they'll provide you with usable stat blocks and a good starting point. Just pluck an encounter or two that you like, and give it a go!

I just grabbed an old WOTC module, made some basic modifications to fit the world, and ran it. It was a bit bumpy but I think everyone had fun.

Look over my DM Workshop thread, there are some good things in there for Rookie PbP DMs.

Start small like the others said, you can even try running a one shot encounter.

Thanks for the positive and supportive replies folks. I really appreciate it. Maybe once I have sorted out my Life Altering Events stuff and have a place to live and all, I'll give it a whirl. I might tap you responders on the shoulder first, do a 1, 2 or 3 character sort of thing, just to see if I can do it without supremely botching things.

I had it in my head (apparently wrongly) that since HP and stat damage stays the same when returning, that poisons would get "suspended". Looking again, I have to concur that the poison still affects Gragnor while he is away, same as active spell time still ticking and expiring.

Well, at least he can't permanently die. If he goes to zero CON, death resets him back to 1 CON at next summoning.

heh. Well, as long as I'm not the only one who finds the thing a bit convoluted. Honestly, it never occurred to me that a DC 13 would be so problematic for poor Gragnor. I was sure I'd only get a round out of that poison before he made the cure save.

Artur's character Marcus has something he wants my character Fae'shiel to identify. I would assume I would use spellcraft to do so. However we are both currently in my characters house thread and unless the judges are regularly checking in on that thread I am unsure if rolling the dice there would be viable. Additionally I am unsure if that area even actually has the dice roller feature enabled. So would it just be better to roll the dice in this thread or in the mystic pearl or should I go ahead and assume that given enough time Fae'shiel is able to take a 20 on identifying the object or what?

Is there a rough (or not so rough) map of Venza and it's surrounding area we have fleshed out? I have an idea rattling around in my head (or else my brain is loose again...will have to check that) and I want to see if there is an appropriate setting nearby.
