Generation Legacy Issue #11 Cont'd

"Cassie and Kelly are with Tommy, Phase and Bishop?" Anika asks. She sighs. "It's bad enough the team is suffering from difference of opinion, now our friends are going over to the other side?" She thinks a moment. "I agree with Charlotte, if you go get Cassie, then what? Lock her up? She's a person, not some tool we put away until we need to use it. And you'll have a fight on your hands with those five there. I understand what you're saying, but this is a bad idea."

"I'll be there right away, Gilden," she tells the young mage as he leaves. "I just really need to talk to..." she trails off. "I can't do this. I can't stab Mark in the back like this. I need his help with this, not have him mad at me. Maybe I should just talk to him. But then he'll get mad at Star. It wasn't Star's fault though, she didn't really tell me exactly what was going on, I had to guess. And I'd rather he be mad at me for confronting him instead of because I ratted on him."

Anika gets up. "I gotta go," she tells the others. "SARAH, belay my request to speak with Paragon, please," she tells the AI, as she makes her way to Paragon's office, to wait outside for Mark.

Ryan rolls his eyes at Gilden's reaction. What a drama queen. I am not impressed Gilden. Go flirt with Gadget or something.

"I'm not going to lock Cassie up. I'm going to talk to her, find some way to contact her. You really think she's safe hanging around a mob of wanted terrorists? Yeah, they have her best interests at heart. Now I think I have a good idea where she is though," he says with a smile. "Hey Tina, I'm going to go report our progress to the boss; you might want to grab some dinner while you can." Fights in the Black Room, Betrayal, Natural Disasters, Fighting Demons, Tracking Cassandra, Tina Going Out With Me...I think I live for days like this. And it's not even over. I want to check out Cassie's crash site myself, if that's at all possible.

Ryan follows Anika to Paragon's office. "Belay your request," he asks. "Are we pirates now? Is that the new official Legacy theme?"

Kal takes a seat looking at the bug, “Wow, that needs all kinds of work, but if that makes you happy then I am all for it. Never saw much use for cars since I can just fly everywhere.”

He kisses her cheek, “I am sure it will look great when you are done with it. I mean it really can’t look any worse.”

"As much as I enjoy it, I can't really expect you to fly me everywhere," she says with a smile, "I'm sure you've got tons more fun and interesting things to do than go shopping with me," she returns the kiss on his cheek, "I really think it looks cute... It's gonna be really cute when it's all cleaned up and shiny again. I've got tons of ideas for it. It's gonna need a new engine for starters, it's getting pretty hard and really expensive to get gass for those. I'll probably need to reinforce it a bit and put in some modern comforts. I want it to look as authentic as possible but be as comfortable ... and as fast as a modern car. I was thinking of asking Gadget and Timothy if they wanted to help. We could..." she goes into car geek mode for a bit detailing all the things that needed upgrading, replacing, rebuilding,... and then abruptly stops mid-sentence to look at Kal, "Uhm... I'm sorry, I ... I got a bit..." she trails off with a sheepish smile and a slight blush.

"Aren't you a funny guy,"
Anika replies with a smirk. "So, you're just going to talk with her? Gilden didn't say the girls were in danger, I don't think Bishop is deciding how best to kill them or anything." She raises her eyebrow, So, what are you going to tell her? I still think she's safe with Tommy. He may be self-absorbed, but he's not stupid. If you and Tina found out about Cassie, odds are he knows, too, and he's not going to let Overseer get her if she's important. He does have an army of STARs don't forget."

Her lips raise into a slight smile. "So...Tina, hey? I have this funny feeling you two will make a good couple."

Hah. I am funny. Choke on it, Chaos.

"And Tommy's loyalties are...where? To himself, maybe? You and I, we're self-absorbed. Tommy is like egomaniacal or something. And I wouldn't exactly consider being surrounded by dangerous terrorists inside a facility with no easy escape to be "safe," would you?," Ryan asks with a smirk. Why does everyone assume that the well-spoken, articulate bad guys to be somehow preferable to the uncharismatic ones? That just makes them more dangerous.

"Me and Tina, huh? To be honest, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. It's odd, being on this end of the barrel. Any idea where I should take her on our first date?," Ryan asks, smiling slightly.

"I was kind of hoping we could keep it quiet. I really want to forget about that part of my life... I only asked Star because I knew she already knew from Tommy...and I thought I could convince her. But if you think that's for the best..."
Paragon nods, “I understand, well you should see Jun Min, she will be expecting you.”

The Cafeteria

Tina watches Ryan go following Anika, before she turns to Charlotte looking even more pissed. Tina clenches a fist, for a moment she considers punching Charlotte right in the face, but then decides to grab some food and belay the chance to satisfy her more violent urges.

Sami sighs, “Even dinner time is interesting.”

James

“I think you are right,” she rises to stand on the surface, turning flesh and blood, but using water to obscure her more personal parts of her anatomy. She grins impishly as she gets dressed, “Well let’s go.”

“Let’s portal our way in,” she says with a smile.

Karen

Kal replies with a glazed look, “Huh oh yeah, it sounds great, can’t wait to see it all done. Sounds, really, really exciting.”

Karen has two messages waiting for her perusal.

Sheila & Tommy

“I wanted to know what your intentions are for my daughter, you say you love her, I am not sure if I believe you. Especially since you only love her now, she isn’t just a diversion or intellectual pursuit, she is a person with feelings, dreams, and desires,” Kelly’s mother replies.

“Of course she is, and I respect that,” Tommy shrugs.

“You are a sick bastard,” Sheila says with a look of disgust, “I won’t let you have her.”

“Kelly would do anything for me, I think the time to try and be an over protective mother is over. Her blind love has conditioned her to malleable, if I ask she will do it, she believes that I love her, I believe that I do. It is an all–too easy emotion to control, manipulate, and guide. You of all people should know just potent love is, and how easily it can blind others,” Tommy shrugs.

“Love is your weakness.”

“Perhaps it is-” Tommy sputters in mid sentence, losing muscle control, the glass dropping from his hand.

“Love is your weakness, and here I thought I would never find a chink in your armor. But you had to fall for that whore, she is pretty isn’t she,” Sheila replies drawing a pistol, “I would ask you to reply but right now, you probably can't control a muscle in your body. A purely physical condition, bypassing that mental barrier you have in that beautiful brain of yours. Don’t worry I am not going to kill you yet.”

Tommy sputters as he collapses to the floor his eyes wide.

“Ghost this isn’t like you, but I guess I am the ultimate liar, first I had Pantheon kill Kelly’s father, you know he knew my secret. So I put these bruises here myself, I knew that Bishop did not trust me… and like an attack dog Phase did his dirty work. Kelly appearing was a stroke of luck, because now I can make her suffer…” she laughs gesturing with her pistol.

Tommy lies on the floor his muscles going taught.

“Now relax,” she says putting a silencer on her pistol, “This will only hurt just a little, I find a mind like yours is much easier to control with a dose of pain. Oh and please try and reach out… you will find that I have become legion. I am not just Neuro anymore, no that name does not suit my new self, I am Legion, and you, Tommy… you will become one of us,” she points her pistol at his shoulder.

“Welcome to the family,” she grins.

"Self-absorbed? Speak for yourself,"
Anika says. "If they were going to kill her, wouldn't they have tried to already? 'Safe' is maybe the wrong word, but I don't really think she's in danger. Besides, there's not much you can tell her that will make her want to come back, I don't think."

"I'm not being sarcastic...well, maybe a wee little bit," she says with a chuckle. "I've got this funny feeling Tina's and my tastes are a little different. Maybe a wrestling match," she jokes with a big grin.

Charlotte quirks an eyebrow up at Tina's response, reading the extraordinary amount of anger the other elite had for little apparent reason. I wonder what her problem is? she thought, considering asking the question to the rest but ultimately deciding not to.

"Yeah, definately interesting." Charlotte said, agreeing with Sami.

James laughs and says "Of course my dear... but I need to change the 'old-fashion' way" but he just pulls a shirt and sweatpants on, still wet as he opens a portal to the cafe behind her

"Do you think its possible? What I was suggesting? making this place and others like it a new nation of Elites, seperate from the UN or anything? I don't even know what you have to do to be considered a nation, I suppouse you have to have people, and a constitution or something that spells out the rights and responsibility of the people and the government. If we needed to I'm sure that we could find elites that could work together to raise an Island out of the sea and create plants. I actually know of a girl at the Institute that could make plants grow whenever she wanted I'm sure there are probably others with powers like that." Kelly tells Bishop after Cassie leaves, not really understanding how Cassie doesn't see that what she wants is what Kelly was talking about doing.

"Do you think the people of your movement could accept something like that? Stop trying to tear down what the Base-line countries have and start building up something of our own? Could you accept that?" she asks.
