Generation Legacy Issue #11 Cont'd

"True, the sooner we start the better. I do have some information about summoning but I want to see what I can find here first." He scans the books and papers scattered on the floor. "This may take us a while, I hope you don't have anything important planned."

Anika looks over at the clock. "Other than sleep? Eh, who needs sleep, especially after such a laid back day," she jokes sarcastically.

As they work, Anika glances up at Gilden when she doesn't think he can see her, smiing. She was upset over what she had to tell him this morning, but she was glad they could still work together and hopefully stay good friends.

Kal lays on his bed, “What is it?”

Timothy

Jun Min replies, “I like the idea, though I have to caveat, I wouldn’t want to exclude any student from participating just because they may or may not be famous; just about every elite here is known to some segment of the population. But I like the idea, you let me worry about putting it together, the best thing you can do for now, is just get the word out. I really like this idea, the kind of thing the students need to keep their minds off all the crazy things that happen around here.”

“It can coincide with the winter formal I have planned. Oh this is going to be so much fun!” she replies excitedly.

Kelly

Bishop thinks for a moment, “I am not trying to topple governments only change those elements that are trying to control us to make the world better for baselines, and not so much for us. But things need to change; despite what you believe the few already control many, democracy or totalitarianism re both only flip side of a single coin.”

He shrugs, “This isn’t a matter for debate, and we have different views, and different goals, but hope to see Overseer defeated that is enough for now.” When she mentions her mother Bishop looks off to where they went, “I have no idea, it could be any number of things… and Tommy… he is older then you…”

Mark

Jun Min listens, giving Mark her full attention even sitting near him so they don’t have a desk between them. She nods at the end, “Star did what she thought was the best thing to do, to help you, but her limited life experiences made her easily manipulated, which sadly you took advantage of Mark.”

“How does that make you feel, is that the kind of person you want to be?” Jun Min questions.

Charlotte and James

Kiyana waves and takes a seat after grabbing a salad and a chicken sandwich. She sits, “How are you this evening, Charlotte?” she says with a smile, “And how are you, Sami?”

Sami shrugs, “I am fine, a little stressed and confused… but fine. It has been a long day, I am not sure how you elites deal with all this excitement. Just so much happening, I don’t think I could do it.”

Kiyana shrugs, “Just have to find the good in the bad.”

Anika & Gilden

Gilden believes he has got the foundations for the ritual down to summon the creature into the world, though once summoned it will be up to him how it actually appears. Demons by their nature are formless beings of evil essence, only given shape when they are summoned into the physical world by the one who summons them.

Cassie

What is Cassie doing, just staring at the walls?

“How does that make you feel, is that the kind of person you want to be?” Jun Min questions.

"Pretty worthless," Mark sighed. Not that it's even close to the worst thing I've ever done. It just feels that way. "I guess I used to do worse things, all the time, but mostly they only hurt me. Or people I didn't care about."

"But I'll do it again, if it got me a fix," he admitted. "I'll try to stop myself and I'll talk myself out of it for a while, and then I'll find a way to get hooked up. It's not like money's a problem. I told the shrinks all of this stuff before I came here and I thought I was set. That worked out."

Mark exhaled slowly, slouching low in the chair. His left hand blurred as he reflexively opened and closed it, rubbing his fingers together at the same time. He started to tap his foot.

When Bishop tells her that Tommy really was older then her, Kelly furrows her brow cutely, wondering how that could be, apparently everyone that actually knew him, at least from Pantheon thought he was older then everyone else, and that was pretty odd, and it certainly did make her curious about it... it also made her feel weird about initially turning him down because he was younger then she was.

The teenage popstar heads for the door that her mom and Tommy had gone through, intending to get to the bottom of why everyone hadn't thought it important to tell her, but really also just to find out what it was they were talking about since she had a suspicion that it was about her, and she felt that she certainly had the right to hear it, it wasn't like she was just a kid and that they could talk over her head.

“Well at lest you are honest,” Jun Min replies, “and that is a start. I believe that I may have something to help you with this problem, but I will warn you it is a little unorthodox. Basically if you want me to I can rewrite that portion of your mind that is driving this need; this isn’t a fix-all but in the short term it will provide you with a measure of resistance. I am still going to admit you into a program administered by the staff health specialists but this will alleviate your need for the fix.”

She pauses removing her thin framed glasses, “Totally consensual, but it will work, although it may feel a little strange while I work inside your head. Not so much painful, as it is, different. I will do my best to limit the changes to alleviating the desire for a fix.”

Kelly

Kelly gets to the door, it is closed and no sound emanates from within. A STAR stands outside motionless, only her eyes betraying her as they follow Kelly’s movements. Mr. Smith approaches, “Miss Mitchell, it seems that the young master has not finished his meeting with your mother, should I show you to your quarters. Or is there something else I can assist you with?”

“He has given me explicit instructions to assist you in any way possible,” the thin old man adds.

"So what, like methadone? How does it work? If you rewrote my brain, why wouldn't it stick for good?" Mark started scratching his neck.

"I'm doing well, thank you. Just worried about all of my friends these days, that's all. How about yourselves?" Charlotte responds.
“The same, I am worried about everyone. I want everything to work out okay for everyone, well except the bad people, they need to have their plans spoiled. But for everyone else, I want everything to be good. But I guess if everything was good, they wouldn’t need Legacy right?” Kiyana says with a look of exasperation.

Sami speaks, “The world is what you make of it I guess, but I think things will turn out for the best, as long as we try and trust each other. You can always rely on your friends.”

Mark

“Something like that,” Jun Min smiles. She thinks on his question, “It’s complicated, given time a given mind tries to go back to what its normal or familiar state is. This is why permanent mind control via elite abilities is fairly rare, the mind will in time shake off the effects, and this applies to the process I would use on you. Even though you accept it, in time it could wear down, although, I could simply erase it permanently but that would leave a gnawing hole in your psyche which could lead to disastrous side effects.”

She puts a hand on his shoulder, “Not something I would do, and basically leave you with fractured memories and gaps. Not something to be done lightly, or without great care, about as dangerous as creating new memories.”

"So this and a program? I did the program thing before and it got me here." Mark sighed. "Ok, do it."
Jun Min nods, “The program is to reinforce the suggestion. Just relax Mark, I need you to relax and listen to my voice. Alright, just close you eyes, stay relaxed, this will be over it before you know it.”

Jun Min uses her Mind Control to implant a Suggestion in Mark to ignore his cravings for a fix. This will last until GM fiat.

Jun Min snaps her fingers and the tingling feeling in Mark’s head dissipates. She smiles, “How do you feel?”
