Generation Legacy Issue #11 Cont'd

"I think Paragon wanted to kick the matter upstairs, or come up with some kind of plan before acting on it. Not that he's a genius in that area," Ryan adds sarcastically. "Still, he knew, like, right away that Cassie faked her death and that Tommy had some hand in it."

"Hey, days like these are great," Ryan interjects. "Although, you know, I'd like to actually go to class one of these days. And check out that hate group Purity."

Kal replies, “I think things will get better, I always have faith that the good will triumph over the bad, even when things look their bleakest. I am sure everything will turn out great, just going to take some hard work and a little luck perhaps.”

“So what are you going to do while I am in Italy, helping put the hurt on Genocide, without hopefully being his executioner… or party to… or whatever.”

"I...I don't know," Karen turns to lie on her back, a worried frown creasing her crystalline brow, "It feels wrong, you know. I'm just gonna be waiting here until something really bad happens, while you're risking your lives. What if something happens to James and he can't come back to get us? I...I think I'm gonna ask Anika if I can still come along," she lies on her back staring at the ceiling,"I wouldn't be able to forgive myself, if something happened to my friends... to you, if there had been something I could have done if I were there..."

"Uh-huh, well with one exception," Anika says, with sideways glance and smile to Sami, "today has been pretty sucky, in my opinion. But, for the most part, things are ending up well, so that's good. Like Sami says, I'm looking forward to getting back to some sense of normalcy around here."

Cassie turns, her hand still holding the knife she's working on the dinner with. "Ah.. I see what Kelly meant now." she says calmly, her face going dead in emotion as she looks the doppeldanger over. "No, I would ask that you leave now. You're not Yoshi, your masters killed him."

"Normalcy? Gee, I wonder what that would be like. I think it would get real boring real fast. By the way, when Legolas has the time," Ryan says with an obligatory eye roll, "get him to use his crystal ball on Billy and Isabella."

"I could use some boredom," Anika replies. Her brows furrow at the suggestion. "Would you stop calling him that? Nobody calls you 'Glow Boy'. Besides, we're in the middle of getting some info on Red Witch. It's not a bad idea, I'll let him know."

He nodded as he put the guitar away and started writing, working out some raw thoughts on how to describe what was going to be done.

Finally, just before midnight, he posted, what he hoped sounded legible, if simple, to the online Institute bulletin board. He also made a trip over to the physical bulletin board(if one exists) and posted a similar version. It read:

"Skilled performers sought for charity performance."

"Singers, dancers, musicians of all sort needed. Cooks of all varieties sought as well to provide food for those who attend as well as those who perform."

"For more information, Contact Jun Min or Timothy."

He smiled, "Well ... now I guess its time I get some sleep as well."

OOC: Sorry, busy week, feel free to interrupt him on the way back if you want(around elevenish or so at night).

“Well maybe I am not, and maybe I am,” he cocks his head with a smile, “See I remember you, we were close once… or perhaps this Yoshi was close to you, and I am just feeling his residual memories. But I will leave soon enough, you just have to come with me… the Mistress would like to speak with you, and I am not one to make her wait.”

He offers his hand, “So we can do this the easy boring way, or the painful fun way where you bleed and burn. Either way I promise not to kill you.”

Kelly

Mr. Smith replies, “For the time being the young master prefers the solitude and hidden nature of Sanctuary. I am sure in time he will become more public. Sanctuary is a work in progress, and construction continues as needed according to his designs and plans.”

Kelly’s hear her mother’s voice, akin to how SARAH speaks back at the Institute, “Kelly dear, I am sorry to have kept you waiting for so long. I finished my chat with Tommy, he said many wonderful things about you. He really does love you, now,” her voice surprisingly upbeat, “although not as much as I love you.”

She laughs at that statement and then continues, “But then no one quite knows you like I do; all you’re secret little thoughts, your hidden feelings, and your fears. If only you could see that you are not alone; I am always with you Kelly… because I love you. I love you as much as I despise you… but they say we always hurt the ones we love… don’t they?”

Charlotte

“They speak to me, but none listen, so I stay silent. But if you wish to know what I see, I see death, the death of not just the flesh but the soul… there is no glory in murder, but murder in war, is simply victory. Victory is glory, so perhaps the circle is flawed? Or perhaps we are not dealing with a circle.”

He stands, “In the end, someone will fall, someone will rise, and things will change but stay the same. We trust the wolf in our midst, while he holds the dagger to our back. But it is the wolf that smiles to our face that is the most lethal.”

The Cafeteria

Sami shrugs, “I am not even sure what normal is anymore, am I normal? I mean here being like me, makes me not normal, a baseline I mean. But I agree with Ani, you should not call Gilden that, he is a good person and deserves your respect.”

He looks annoyed, “I think I am going to go read Ani, have a good evening everyone.” He gives Anika a kiss on the cheek, and leaves.

Timothy

Timothy’s cell phone rings… its Jean.

Mark

The sky is still crimson, and the sun is just a sliver what it was. Star’s hand is warm, though artificial she feels real, and human. The two sit there in silence as the sky turns from a deep crimson to a light glimmer of darkness. In that magic hour, Mark feels Star’s lips on his own…

Karen

“Pretty much why I am going,” Kal replies.

SARAH speaks, “Private message for you Kal.”

“Spit it out, I hold no secrets from my lady,” the young god replies.

The AI answers, “Gilden would like to speak with you in private, he will be in his room the remainder of the evening. Bring those that you trust.”

Kal shrugs, “Guess we talk to the magic man, this should be interesting,” he says standing.

Gilden

Gilden’s door opens, its Gadget, she looks cleaned up from earlier with an awkward smile. She speaks nervously, “I, I finished my work, and I got your message. I wanted to get here as soon as I could, because… well…” she steps inside letting the door close behind her.

“Never mind, what do you have planned,” she says adjusting her glasses.

Back at Sanctuary

“Well I suppose you were correct sir,” Mr. Smith replies watching various screens in the control hub of Sanctuary.

Tommy sighs watching his double get man handled, “I had no doubt I was correct, I am just surprised to see that Neuro… well I perhaps we should call hit Legion be so brazen. I had not expected to see him again. Of course I am sure there is not much to see.”

“Perhaps we should help Miss Mitchell,” the thin man advises.

“Why?”

“Because you love her?” Mr. Smith replies with no hint of sarcasm.

“On a purely intellectual level I know that Kelly is a perfect choice for a breeding partner; trusting, beautiful, and most of all an elite who I share compatibility with on a genetic level. Emotionally, I know that I should do something to help her, as if to protect her. But academically; I am curious to see the result of this experiment, this Legion is a quantifiable unknown, and to satisfy my curiosity I will let this play out in a controlled environment,” Tommy says with a sardonic smile.

“Understood sir,” Mr. Smith nods.

“The things I do for love,” Tommy quips as he settles in to watch the show…
