Half of Cassie's fun is the uncertainty of what she is... and the fact she knows pieces of that puzzle help to flesh the story out
beleive it or not she actually learned more about herself in the last scene, but it isn't directly said this is what Cassie is.It will take compiling everything she has learned, to really see the big picture
