Well, I am partly playing devil's advocate. And one of the problems with playing devil's advocate is that it is harder to win.
I do agree with you.
But it can get very complicated.
Just saying how to do something does not make one culpable for someone else doing it. The government may use its power to slap you around anyway, right or wrong. So being right can still be painful.
But this is different that the starting point of this thread. A case of slander is a direct harm against another party. I am not sufficiently informed to have an opinion on the specific case-in-point. But I will support the general right of party's to sue for slander. Ultimately you must depend on the justice system to provide the fair solution. Depending on the government may be cold comfort, but it is not always a perfect world.
Enjoyed the debate, but my four year old is calling me to supper.
