I know that Dan Akroyd's been trying g to get this done for a looong time, and Harold Ramis was all for it but Bill Murray didn't want to do. But apparently he said "yes" to voicing Peter Venkman is a CGI Ghostbusters 3!!!
This is some of the most exciting news for me in a long time. Ghostbusters is my all-time favorite movie, the biggest movie influence of my entire life, and I am ecstatic at the possibility of this being made. Ghostbusters 2 severely underwhelmed me, but the idea behind this movie sound really good, the Ghostbusters gong to Hell, and I am really, really happy.
Heck, I'm still a little disappointed that Akroyd didn't do any commentary for the DVD release of Ghostbusters like Ramis and Ivan Reitman did. I would have absolutely loved to hear is thoughts on everything, since Ghostbusters was his pet project.
Bit for now, please excuse me while I go do the Happy Dance for a few hours!
Sorry about being so overly geeked out about this, but I've just absolutely loved Ghostbusters since it came out when I was 8 and I forced my mom to take me to see it in the theaters about 10 times, and I've wanted a version with modern special effects and a good second story since Ghostbusters 2 came out and was so disappointing to me.
