Ghostwalk

I was lucky enough to playtest Ghostwalk. I can't talk about it too much, but Sean has put information on his site, and there's a little more info at the WotC site in the review of upcoming books. As has already been stated, the ghosts are not the MM ghosts. I'm definitely picking up a copy in June, Sean & Monte did a great job on this one.

Here's the blurb Morrus has for Ghostwalk:

This new setting for the D&D game is an undead city which allows players to interact with and play ghosts as tangible characters, an option which has never before been available to players. Included are rules to play ghosts, new prestige classes specific to the setting, and many new monsters and spells, all of which are portable into any D&D campaign. There are extensive descriptions of the city and its environs, as well as the surrounding kingdom. This product may function as a stand-alone adventure or may be easily intergrated into an ongoing campaign. Three distinct adventure options give DMs a variety of choices on how to introduce their players to the setting.

Cool! I have such a place in my campaign, though my players haven't gone there yet -- they've just heard rumours of a gateway to the land of the dead.

That could be a LOT of fun -- do a TPK, utterly stun your players, and just as they're preparing to tear up their character sheets, cursing your name, spring this on them -- that they get to play as GHOSTS?

My party will kill me. They'll love me, but they'll kill me. Heh, heh, heh.

Okay, Mr. Valterra, when's this cowboy coming out?

If Monte and Sean K Reynolds are on it, the book will rock. :D

That's what I'm counting on. Any interest I have is on pure name recognition. The core concept (play ghosts) is somewhere between a yawn and a snore on its own.

I have to say it has piqued my curiosity. A question I have (and I will probably have to wait until the book comes out) is what happens if your "ghost" character dies:confused:

I think that those authors can make a wonderful book with that core concept. I trust on Mr. Cook and Mr. Reynolds abilities :D
