Ghostwalker PrC from Sword & Fist

One of my players wants to take this prestige class when he is able to do so. Since we've been discussing balanced and unbalanced prestige classes lately, does anyone have any opinion on this one? Has it been updated to 3.5 yet? Is it overpowered in your opinion? Well-balanced? Let's have the cant on this one.

I played one of these for several levels, and used one for a major NPC in my game. To my knowledge, it has not been updated yet.

I love the class, personally. It's kind of weak, generally, largely due to all the feats you have to take to qualify. I love the etherealness and shadow-walking/healing abilities. However, if you can manouever yourself into position to use its main abilities - the painful reckoning - it could be construed as being a little too powerful. You'll have to decide whether the bad guys in your game tend to recur, and you'll have to keep track of who qualifies for the painful reckoning.

This is really a PrC that provides flavor more than power. It is really a great class as-is - given the WoTC mantra of (if it hasn't been updated, its still good) - go ahead and use it. The type of character this guy is supposed to be is like the Clint Eastwood "Man with No Name" drifter cowboy from A Fistful of Dollars, etc. The silent guy that mysteriously comes to town and just as mysteriously disappears.
