I would have argued for 1d8: Huge giants have slams that deal 1d6...advancing that one size category gives 1d8. Sounds like I'm already outvoted though...

If it makes you feel better, several Huge giants (death giant, fomorian giant) deal 1d8, so upsizing to 2d6 is "legal".
