Giant Eagle Mount

Well he'd be a Paladin's mount so he'd get bonus HD ect. and the feat Holy Mount will help with multi classing. If even if he was just a a cohort he'd still advance in HD, or accourding to the people on the WoTC boards, class levels.

Please don't try and rain on my parade dude, it's a celebration.

I just don't want you have a double whammy of a dead mount and a fatal fall. Celebrating is fun, but mounts are a big responsibility. May I suggest not using the Spur Mount & Use mount as Cover options of Ride.

I just wanted to make sure this wasn't another "The hobbits use giant eagles to get to Mordor" situations. The saga won't need to be completely reworked if the party can fly, will it?

Magic... or a ride skill check.

Once a round.

The mount should be a target option for foes of reasonable intelligence/experience that can hit it because a mount is generally easier to kill than the rider in most cases. And if it goes below (I think) 75% of HP it needs to land.

And there is the fun of waiting to see if the rider has something that prevents him going SPLAT on the ground when the flying mount dies.
