If you like Giant Monsters then check out the link below for information on Giant Monster Rampage. A game that allows you to play immense creatures, fight other monsters and best of all destroy cities in the process just like in Japanese Kaiju films.[/url]

Wow, wacky! All of a sudden it's Attack of the Monsterous Creatures. My daughter and I played a game that sounds exactly like this at DunDraCon. Monster Island, from Firefly Games. We had a blast (especially with Ken Hite playing Big Daddy Cthulhu, but that's another tangent).

Is the Mystic Eye game a d20 game?

I am completely and totally sorry it really was meant in jest. Sometimes things come across differently in writting.

Play-Doh Monsters in Dragon

Dragon magazine once published a game based on Play-doh monsters (It would have to be around '88 I believe). Basically you sculpted a monster out of play-doh, guestimated it according to a set of guidelines and then went for an all-out melee brawl. IIRC every time you damaged an opponent you got to physically damage it by sticking your finger in the play-doh or sumtin'. We played 2-3 times; a fair amount of fun.

I actually played that game about a year ago. They should reprint those rules. Playdoh monsters is a fun game.

Looks great.

Have any of you seen or played the Monsters Ravage America game?
It was just about the last game Avalon Hill put out before they went down.
I just bought a copy off of ebay - looks neat : http://www.boardgamegeek.com/quicksearch.php3

And in Dragon magazine #162 (or something), there was a similar miniatures game called "Dino Wars" that pitted dino figures vs. army men.

I never played Monsters Ravage America, though I've seen some reviews of it. The Dino Wars game in Dragon was great!

I see that Nicole has already mentioned Monster Island: The Game of Giant Monster Combat. Princess Uni the stuffed unicorn monster, played by her daughter, wiped out everyone in that DunDraCon game to become Queen of Monster Island. It was a lot of fun!

We recently added a movie monster quote randomizer to the www.firefly-games.com site -- if you like giant monster movies, check it out. You'll also find our color cover and all kinds of info on the game, which we announced early in March. It will come out in July.

I used to have a copy of Monsters Ravage America. I thought it was fun. BY the way have you gotten a chance to check out the dino listings in gaming frontiers volume 1.

I see it says Green Ronin in your signature are you sure you don't work for Firefly Games. If not they should pay you for that ad. :)

Despite the smile tacked on at the end, your comments don't come off as ":)".

I brought my six year old daughter to DunDraCon with me in February, and one of the few kid-friendly games I saw there was Monster Island, so we played it. Kate had a fantastic time and still talks about how "Princess Uni" won the game. When I was looking over the Mystic Eye link, I saw that it looks almost exactly like the game we played, right down to the lava pools and giant rubber toys, so I commented on how wacky that was. Period.

I have a perfectly nice and cordial relationship with the guys at Mystic Eye, and no, I do not work for Firefly Games. As always, my opinions are *mine*.

Good luck with your non-d20 release.

Nicole

Giant Monster, I know Nicole from GR and she would not do anything to hurt anyone intentionally. She is right, there are multiple renditions of this game and all she said was, she played one and it was fun. Green Ronin (Nicole and Chris + team) are great folks who we have a very good relationship with and I intend it to stay that way. Please removed the "not so nice" portion of your remark to her for me.

Just for clarification, this game has been in development for longer than Mystic Eye Games has bee around. It was presented to me shortly after our first Nightmares & Dreams book and the author has been working towards a final ever since. It is circumstantial that there are more than one hitting at similar times. I am not sure what that means though! We will see. We have always intended to expand beyond d20 (not out of) and have other things in the works.

Patrick DID highjack this thread for a plug.hehehe. I am OK with it as long as we all play nice. Just messin!!!

What I can tell you is Giant Monster Rampage is a great and fun game (as I am sure the others are). I honestly hope the market can support a couple of them.
