Hi, could you correct me on giant's size per edition of D&D?

1E: Large?
2E: Huge
3E: Large
4E: Large

Is that right?

Its not quite so streamlined between the editions:

1E: All Giants were Large but listed the height for comparison. For example hill giants were 10 1/2 feet tall (sizeL) and storm giants were 21 feet tall (size L)

I think 2E was similar to 1E ( got rid of my 2E books)

In 3E some giants were size L and others are Huge.

In 4E I think its kind of like 3E. Some giants are large and others huge.

D&D Giants, regardless of edition, are very big. As such, thats what my group called them after our first encounter with creatures standing between 1 and 2 stories high. In many cases this is only slightly taller then a Human, Male, Fighter standing up in the back of a wagon. They were Very Bigs. There were Hill Very Bigs, Frost Very Bigs, Cloud Very Bigs, etc.

Giants entered the picture sometime later when I had a PC trip and fall into a footprint one of them left. It was a Giant that lifted the blacksmith's house off the ground and shook it to get all the people and metal out before he used it as a hat. Think Time Bandits. That's a Giant.

The funny thing about the "giant" in Time Bandits is that he's actually rather short (maybe even a dwarf) but he has the stocky/muscular look that Terry Gilliam wanted for a giant.
