YES. These were great articles! :)

I wonder though, if they got the title for these articles from the book by O.E. Rolvaag? (Which is great book, by the way, but has NOTHING to do with rpgs.)

Anybody know perchance?

I wonder if we could get away with a "Giants in the Earth" discussion thread were someone throws out a fictional fantasy character (say Richard Rahl from Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series or Harry Potter) and we all brainstormed him into 3E.

Would that be acceptable? Would it get enough interest?

Holy smokes Glyfair! I just realized - if you are in Delaware when you are posting it is 3:40 am or so.... :uhoh:

Anyhoo ... I think it would be a great idea! I have always wondered, for example, of the stats of the League of the Scroll members (past and present) in Tad William's Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy.... Or the Sithi, the Norns, etc., etc. I am sure others would not mind seeing similar characters rendered into 3.x stats, etc. :)

So I vote: YEA! :D

I teach copyright law, it actually makes me feel physically sick that things have gone so far that now magazine publishers won't even do this kind of thing for fear of being sued by some a******. Copyright law was never intended to prevent this.

Sorry to make you sick, but this is exactly the reason the series died originally, and exactly the reason why it hasn't been back since.

Paizo's new fiction line will be reprinting several of Leigh Brackett's Eric John Stark novels, starting with "The Secret of Sinharat/People of the Talisman" in November. If you haven't read them, I strongly recommend them. It's a crime Brackett isn't better known than she is.

"Giants in the earth" is a term from the Bible, the book of Genesis.
