Yes... the Brain-in-a-jar wants to make you think, and generate "buzz", to get more people talking about the Brain-in-a-jar. If there were a notice you'd just say "ok". See, no thinking. Everything ends there.

However! If someone gets an error message, then you say... "huh?" See! Thinking! And then you go elsewhere asking other people... "Is anybody else having a problem?" Everybody is now talking about their site, and everybody is also now visiting their site to check it out. Buzz!!
The mission is a success.

A very cunning plan indeed.

Not quite as cunning as keeping the site running flawlessly... or as helpful as posting a notice on the main page... but cunning nonetheless. ;-)

There was one of those when you attempted to go on their boards last night (IIRC, it said something about the boards being down until, I think, 9:30am PST today).

Today, their front page seems to open up all right, but trying to log on leads to that error message.

Edit: looks like it's back up now.
