There is a decent book on Bruno generally available: Giordano Bruno & the Hemetic Tradition (Frances A. Yates, University of Chicago Press, reprint 1991, still in print, ISBN 0-226-95007-7). This might help in looking up his (and other Renaissance) notions about ceremonial magics. :)

D'OH!

More books!

Elizabethan Magic (Robert Turner, Element Books, 1989, ISBN 1-85230-083-3)
The Queen's Conjurer: The Science & Magic of Dr. John Dee, Adviser to Queen Elizabeth I (Benjamin Woolley, Owl Books/Henry Holt & Company, 2001, ISBN 0-8050-6510-5)

If you have any questions, or you're interested in being one of our playtest groups, post to our forums (links from the GLORIANA page).

While I'm waiting for my username registration to be activated for the Adamant message board, is there anything specific we can do to get on the list of playtesters?

Oh hey, thanks!

I'll just ask over there, then.

I'd mentioned this to my gaming group, and they're quite excited about it. We were planning on starting up a Renaissance game set in Europe during the 16th century, using house rules from Skull & Bones and Unearthed Arcana... Gloriana would be perfect for it, if we could get in as a playtest group.

I've answered over there, so I'll echo it over here.

To get on board as a playtest group, just let me know. We're aiming for starting playtest in October, and will be sending out Non-Disclosure Agreements and the like to anybody who is on the "interested parties" list as soon as we're set to go.

Once again, Dork Tower predicts the future! (A game similair to this was featured in a strip a few years back...)

Count me in, too. It's an area I'm not familiar with, but it's fueled so much of Gaiman's work that I'm eager to find out more. Granted, I could do research or read period literature, but it's much easier to have someone else distill it all down into Gameable Bits. :)

Looking forward to it.

They didn't predict the future so much as they read my mind. ;)

Cheers,

I'm really looking forward to this... I'm very fond of S&B already.
